Once the capability to email short pager-compliant messages eventually arrived for use with alphanumeric pagers, the need for a central switchboard fell off. Then all the cellphone makers added the ability for text messaging and pager services started dying with a quickness.
I fondly recall the night that all senior personnel and managers placed our now-defunct Motorola Advisor II+ alphapagers on our director's BBQ grill and lightly grilled them.

I know what pager is, I just couldnt find it in gear and my dumb ass didnt realize its decoration.
What people want to know is what does it do in game does it have a purpose as of right now other than being a decoration that says No New Messages.
Technically 1999 is hitting "Winter of 2024", though I'd personally lean towards December just based on history.
