Jade's Design

Still can't wrap my head around how they though this was a good idea...

There are people who make the argument that they should be able to choose whatever their warframes look like, and... sure? Does it really detract from your creative freedom that people just want to have at LEAST and alternate skin for Jade that doesn't make them inherently uncomfortable playing? I couldn't care less about lore... I don't care that Ballas is evil or something like that. That was already proven with her existence within the quest. So why for whatever reason are we still playing as a preg Jade? DE has made some questionable design choices in the past but this definitely takes the cake. It's already bad enough that her design is not very solid to begin with, but it's a damn shame I am so put off playing a warframe that otherwise has a great and interesting kit. I really hope this doesn't set the standard for the game going forward. This isn't misogyny, this isn't a hate of women and their pain or traumas, but it is a hate for bad execution of design and story. I hate that people defend this, I really do. The point would have been more than made about the tragedy of becoming a warframe or whatever, within just the actual quest - in which we don't see her fighting anything. And now we play her... Yeah no I think it's a great idea to play as a pregnant person being shot at... whoever came up with that? - make them the director actually.

Christ's sake this is just stupid beyond all belief that I have to even think about this stuff playing this game.

I figure perhaps not being interested in the lore isn't an uncommon trait, and perhaps that is why Jade exists as she does? DE Rebecca mentioned in an interview that she thought for the quest line as an homage to the movie/book Children of Men. You have played the quest, if you have seen the movie or book or heard of them; does this quest's narrative remind you of Children of Men? It could be the quest tries to take loose interpretation from the book's version whereas in the movie, women are infertile the men are in the book but I don't really see a connection either way, more a love and life find a while message which really doesn't work for me writing wise considering you have Stalker and well the lore that doesn't really matter here,

For what its worth, I figure someone just wanted to make a warframe that had pregnancy as a theme and for whatever reason it resonated with the DE higher ups. No big conspiracy or hidden message most like; just hey lets see if it works and do it. If folk like the warframe outside of its visuals I am sure alternate skins will be made that may play up or play down the existing visual theme. Its best to like many things in warframe, grab it when you can and if you don't like it now; it might be better when the usage numbers cause another re-evaluation at DE.

no one talking about using a kid control warframe for killing, no one talk about Stalker Hunting tenno Kid and putting Scythe on their neck, but some people get so bothered using pregnant Warframe into mission, DE really should release non pregnant version of jade because some people these day get extremely bothered by weird stuff.

I dont see her as pregnant anymore as the frame we are playing, I know the stock animation is not helping but then who runs stock animation anyway?

Personally I find it far more bothersome what they did with The New War, that just sucked so bad, when before I saw the Corpus as machines and Cyborgs etc, like the borg in Star Trek or something like that, now with Viso or Vico or whatever we know they are individuals with thoughts and feelings of their own....great...and we are mowing them down wholesale.....good move DE, brilliant.

Not that that makes this quest any better, it just raises many questions, its very ill adviced because warframes getting pregnant is just....it just changes the lore too much but they have been doing that for a while now.
It also does not add at all to the story of the STALKER which they said it would and now the stalker just speaks clear English to us with poor voice acting which also sucks.

Fan Theory was that the Stalker was the son of Umbra Excalibur, that would have been perhaps a tad too "small world" but man that would be a good backstory, why does the STALKER hate warframes? well perhaps its not entirely hate, but he hates what they became, what they were forced into and thus its a bit of an ending their suffering story, that would be an interesting twist.

AND I think the source of the Jade Light could have been a far more dramatic quest, the Jade Light is this long established all destroying thing, the thing the Orokin used to execute individuals....individuals like..oh idk...Margulis for example....
Imagine Jade having this solid heroic past only to be lobotomized and reduced to mere ammo for a weapon to destroy all that displease the Orokin masters? that would have been pretty dark and interesting.

The writing certainly went downhill for a while now, Im still clinging to Ordis's story, the Sacrifice and what you read with Rhino Prime at Simaris's place, that is the warframe I know and love.

It does beg the question of why are you thinking about this stuff yet unable to accept any of the reasons that already exist that the Jade you play as is not literally pregnant? It's a glowing orb of light in there, not a child.

I think they simply listened to the Twitch chat. Someone asked if Warframes could be pregnant. DE, responded in a way none could predict with the following update.

It's got everyone chatting. And the game is not for kids, so please don't play if you're not old enough. It's a game. About Aliens and Tenno. They don't exist. AT ALL.

For me, I don't like Jade's underpowered airborne exulted weapon, with low crit chance.

I think of this as a video game about aliens in a galaxy far far away, that don't exist. With mature themes, but still it's a video game. Don't burn books. Don't ban books. If you don't like Jade, don't play her. XD

I do. He rocks. But if folks want to play Jade, more power to them. It's not cookie cutter, big corp boring. It's at least got us talking and debating. Why that makes this much more interesting then TFD, to me.

PS: Talking about sound design: My biggest problem with Jade (a fictional mech called a warframe) is her screeching weapon sounds. Not cool like the Phenmor. Also, her alien outfit is naff (not stylish). imo.

Harrow Deluxe has a big glowing orb and it's one of my favorite skins, Jade has a big glowing orb and i'm not so weak brainwise that a character's looks in a videogame make me "uncomfortable" so no, thanks, she's fine as it is.

Children of Men was a great film, imho. But a bit dark. Still it was different. Great actor, the lead dude. I can't recall his name.

Bro what?... In what world is she not heavily pregnant? Oh no she's just rubbing her "orb" of power with that idle animation - pregnant women shouldn't be held as some design centrepiece for anything if they can't manage to hold a message even barely within the quest itself. There is a massive stark contrast between something like Bloodborne and how they portray pregnancies, and whatever the hell this was trying to be. So yes, I guess it does "beg the question" as you say it but no, I will never accept that as an answer because that would be assuming that I do not have a pair of working eyes.

Im not gonna name drop(mods will ban you even if its on another platform), but you have at least 1 "pride" WF content creator who sat for about an hour a few days ago throwing jade into the Helminth and letting her get stabbed in the stomach over and over again and laughing directly about it. This is what DE has enabled with their game and a long with Twitch basically allowing smut, is a combination of horrific ♥♥♥♥ and I have to honestly find something else to watch. People are 100% sick in the head.

There is nothing "weak brainwise" about calling to attention a poorly executed idea that completely fell flat on its face. I just can't believe that there are actual people who think DE did a service to players by putting a literal pregnancy rhythm game into this quest... Horrible decisions all around and not helped by splitting the community because some people think you are weird for not wanting to play a game where you run around the battlefield with an "orb of energy" instead of a baby unlike the quest. What is even going on anymore - do most people not see the irony in this?

This. Just another reason not to bring these themes into any of the gameplay. I couldn't care less about other people and how they play games but there's just some ♥♥♥♥ that you don't do. Red flags everywhere with content creators that do stuff like that.
