accolyte one shot me?
I do NOT think its the magnetize issue, because i use melee weapons, or abilities to kill all acolytes that spawn. Or am i wrong and they updated the effect to include melee damage was well being reflected?

If none of that, then why am i getting one-shot? I get just noticed that i go invulnerable a short moment first, then 0. Obviously my shield is being taken down, but by what?

I use a varity of frames, but lets just use what happened just now as a base. Excal umbra, 1000+ Hp, 1000+ armor, and 1000+ shield. Mods like adaptation, full umbra mod set, ect. I can easily kill everything around the accolyte in steel path, including those big ass robots that spawn, and the worm things, in like a few seconds. But i do less to acolyte, and end up dying to it? Why?

Do you know which specific acolyte it was? They all have different mechanics, and many can one-shot a warframe through a variety of means.

Also, as far as doing less damage goes, they have special mechanics to protect them. I know status effects cap out lower on them, but they also might have damage attenuation as well.

Nah, i dont get the name of the culprit. But i do take the shield down almost immediately, but the hp goes slower. Do you know somewhere i can get the one-shot mechanics info at? Not a wiki where i have to wade thorough a thousand words, but a like a quick chart? lol

Not really, aside from 'just hit them harder'. A lot of my weapons and warframes can kill an acolyte in under a second, but they're all specific to the weapons and warframes in question. Like I can drop a mag bubble on an acolyte and one-shot it with Nataruk, if I'm using Mag. Enough sheer damage multipliers and bonuses will make an acolyte just vanish as quickly as they show up.

Not possible for any enemy to one-shot you without getting past your Shield Gate (except massive toxin damage afaik), some Acolytes seem to have power like reflecting your massive damage back to you so it's better to know which one of them you are having a problem with.

Having 1000+ armor means nothing if the damage type can break through your armor.

If they are too fast, infuse Gloom and slow them down, easier to observe their pattern, always a sure win for me, if they don't nerf Gloom in the next update.

thanks all. sounding more and more like the solution is: Do more damage before it kills you. Should have known. That i can work with.

Well, that or remember which acolytes do what and check what the name is when they announce themselves. The portrait that shows up does tell you which acolyte is coming, so you know that if it's, for example, Malice, that they're going to have the mag bubble, and Violence will shut down your warframe abilities and try to lift you and kill you in melee. Those are usually the only two I worry about since they can potentially do something that will stop me from being able to just kill them quickly.

I didn't focus on pure DPS to kill them, I observe them carefully and finally knew they are allergic to Gloom, that's how I beat them.

It's the magnetize. It doesn't have to be just your attacks that it can suck in, it can be attacks from other enemies and even the acolytes themselves, so the damage absorbed can stack up pretty high. I've had one pop on me with a near 400% strength Vex Armor at maximum damage reduction and ice Ward.

The visual cue is a little subdued, which makes it especially hard to see with SP's increased spawns. My tactic for that is to kill the acolyte and go into operator mode before it pops.

Also, Acolytes can be one shotted BUT they have damage attenuation, so unless you can do huge damage with unruly weapons to kill them easily, faster damage gets attenuated less.

The real cheat is to give a On Call crew (primary +100%, combat 5) a good weapon since their shots aren't affected by them and just summon once the Acolyte starts its intro and they'll shred them so fast, you'll be left in awe.

Just in case anyone is not aware, with regards to the magnetize bubble, rolling causing it to disconnect from you so you can leave it.
