you gotta kill enemies for your day ult to do damage.
or you gotta kill enemies for your night ult to restore shield and health
you also get access to a aoe sleep
at 0:56 there's my equinox build youtube.com/watch?v=kLBpHRbD7DM
the 190% efficiency compensates the 40% duration since toggled abilities costs scale with it
his 1. is useless its a gimmick nothing more
2. its a decent armor strip ability that doesnt require to much strenght to work (looking at you pillage)
3. his bread and butter, its a toggle ability that stays permanent active, each dead body in the aura range rerolls the enemies loot pool so basically nekros generates more drops, it costs either with each body energy or with his augment mod life (recommended since you gonna swimm in health orbs)
4. kinda gimmick like 1. you summon from a pool of killed enemies 7 shadows that attack enemies around you like a necromancer, you get an good augment mod that gives you damage resistance for each shadow active and with some extra work you can do a necromancer afk nekros build that kills quite decent for starchart level but is more meme than efficient.
so yes nekros requires mostly active weapon gameplay to succeed and his 3 as an passive buff, 2as an situational armor strip and his 1 you can just helminth for something better.
For defense, i'd still recommend sticking to defense frames. Nothing like wasting a run because objective got evaporated. Frost, Gara. Not Limbo though.
Mass area lockdown, high constant area damage, all of his abilities are good, and he's a both a caster and gun platform meaning he's very active.
His 4 also makes enemies easier to shoot rather than harder these days, and Pilfering Swarm lets him be a loot frame too. So people are never unhappy to see Hydroid on their team.
But as for active def/surv frames, I would suggest Khora with a statstick, Limbo, and Nidus.
She's also pretty mediocre compared to the rest of the roster so if the devs ever give her a second look (not sure why they didnt for her prime) you can rest assured its for a buff and not a dante.
i came back after a 4 year pause. i dont own many arcanes yet and no legendaries at all. but im still able play steel path with lvl 200 enemies without any problems. solo as well.
the easiest way for me was a high duration loki (all time invis) and a well modded lacu(karatsha). this electric whip... and a smeeta kavat. i use a high crit chance nataruk bow as primary weapon. when i have a revenant, citrin or dante in my team im able crit 1mio+ per shot. when my kavat finally decides to work^^
i need to play him active, mostly melee becouse of better damage output...
but u need to decide what is more fun for u.
this version has more base strength and doesn't use the augment
