all I can say is that the confusion is part of the story telling which will be revealed in "The New War" which is probably 100+ hrs into the game unless you pay to skip or skip content which will drop the hours
The lore is already confusing enough as it is, I'm glad I let sink some of it in before going into Duviri... Still not really sure what the F is happening between aliens, mind contol, time travel and alternate realities.
However, there's a lot of stuff with Duviri lore-wise that will make 0 sense unless played next to The New War quest
So it's really up to you which you value more?
Options:
Lore focused - If you want to understand the story of Duviri (or have a better chance at it) wait until after "The New War". This will put it near the VERY end of the storyline after the main starchart is finished.
Gameplay style - If you enjoy souls games, or a slightly slower and more reactive melee focused combat system, then Duviri will be extra fun for you and you should start it ASAP
Rewards - The primary rewards of Duviri are some well above average melee weapons (considering you can get them EXTREMELY early if you try) and access to a game mode called "The Circuit". The circuit will give you three different frames each week of which you can select ONE and earn ALL of it's blueprints deterministically along with some useful mods and augments. If you only want the rewards, you can jump in whenever you want.
how jackals get there idk and how we keep stuff from there neither
