As a new player, I don't understand vaulted frames and items
I'm a destiny refugee, and let me first say I love this game, I just can't stop playing it.

However there is something very frustrating. I realised literally all my favorite warframes have their prime permanently vaulted and there's only 10 available prime warframes out of the total of 56, none of which I'm interested in.

So I was wondering... Why does sych system exist ? What is the reasoning behind locking new players out of the best version of their frame ? I understand it's not that big of a difference between regular and prime... But numbers matter, we are gamers, this is a farming simulator game. And honestly, I can deal with a little less health and shield, but prime frames with increased movement speed and added polarity slots is just unfair.

you can buy relics or even the prime warframes as parts from people using the in-game currency plat. I usually use Warframe Market, a website since its super duper ez pz to buy/sell stuff there.

Fair enough but I would assume prime parts/relics that have been vaulted are pretty expensive since they are not farmable anymore, they are essentially in limited and ever lowering quantity.

It's not that easy to sell good stuff as a new player, I don't even know what I should sell, I've also heard that there's a daily/weekly trading cap, it that true ?

those Vaulted prime will came back, just need to wait, reason to vault them because we dont want a mission giving tons of different prime frame / weapon parts relic.

imagine you want Rhino prime relic only but you keep getting Khora / Ash / Ember / Mesa / Vauban / Hydroid and many other frame relic, the grind will be miserable.

it is true, but it is easy to reach to next MR since you are low MR player, just need to grind different MR fodder, more MR mean you allow to trade more.

i suggest you forget about prime or trading until you reach MR 5 or 10.

a lot of vaulted stuff are pretty cheap imo, even the rarest prime stuff barely reach over 200 plat. iirc all prime warframes, weapons, accessories etc eventually come back.

YES, there is a daily trading cap, its per day rather than weekly, and yes it probably won't be easy as a new player so until then you can either stick with an experienced player or look up a guide.

That makes sense, altough that grind issue would also be solved by trading, without forcing it, but yes I get it.

I'm MR 8 (effectively 9 I just failed the mission last night), should I start getting involved in trading ? Any tips on what I should farm for selling ?

It's only my 14th day but I guess I've been playing A LOT lol

you should always practice before doing the Test.

and yes,you can start grind prime set to sell or selling Prime junk,or learn how to use Warframe Market wepsite for trading,go unlock more Disruption mission if you can,Disruption give you relic quick if you able to handle the mission, and Never do Disruption in Jupiter.

God roll Riven actually gonna make you alot of Plat, but you have to keep grind enough Kuva to Burn.

I did practice, it's the mission where you have to stealth kill all enemies in 3 different maps.

I failed the practice on the last map but was confident I could get it done with a faster moving frame so I picked Loki, the weapon that gives invisibility on stealth kill and went to the real test. I failed all 3 attempts on first map somehow... Anyway

Thanks for the Disruption tip I'll look into it. I only have 1 Riven mod so far

Look, that test has 'enemies' that 'insta fail' the player by simply looking in your direction. So, no worries. It's not a fun one that test.

But good to hear that you got to the last stage, as that's the hardest stage, but it means you got past stage 1 and 2 at least in practice if I'm reading your post correctly. Nice one!

Just look at their "patrol" patterns and always get them from behind, keep moving, and practice alot. EVERYONE has had trouble with that MR9 test, and if they say it was easy, they're just either very lucky or bragging.

Study stage 3, take your time. There's no clock on it. imho, don't go faster, look at their pattern in each stage and develop a pattern that works, - don't rush, take your time.

The other tests are not as buggy as 9 so just take your time and when you get past it eventually, all your XP affinity (MR) points are saved, so you lose nothing, just time.

GGs.

PS: Do it your way, but try using all those pillars everywhere to shield you, and go from post to post (pillar), in the correct pattern until you get that last 'alien enemy'. There are many youtube videos with people doing that test, and everyone does it their own way, imho.

to force you to spend sixteen hours grinding both aya, reputation for relic packs and fissures each week for the next year, or drop money

In a nutshell, it gives a false sense of "value" to old stuff.
Stalectos Apr 24, 2024 @ 12:22pm
2 main reasons. 1st is of course to inflate their value for stuff like prime resurgence. second is because if every prime was in rotation at once the relic pool would be massive and actually getting even a single relic you want from a drop would become hideously unlikely. either that or basically every mode that drops relics would need a separate drop table specifically for it that has no overlaps with other modes and even then they'd still need to add more distinct drop pools over time to avoid the pools diluting.

they theoretically could replace relic drops with just dropping aya instead and letting you buy literally any relic with aya but that'd remove a lot of RNG from obtaining prime parts and the less RNG there is in getting prime parts the less likely anybody is to spend money on prime access or prime resurgence.
bwc153 Apr 24, 2024 @ 12:42pm
The big reason prime vault is a thing is to help with drop tables. There are over 500 unqiue void relics. Say you wanted to farm for Wisp Prime, 9 relics drop the parts for Wisp Prime. Even if you target-farm various Relic tiers, you're still looking at a pretty low drop chance for the relic you want on an already-semi rare item. Ontop of that, once you do have the relics you *still* have to get lucky on opening them.

I've played the game since before Relics, and vaulting, existed. It may be frustrating to have gear you want be vaulted, but it is much easier now to actually complete a prime now versus having dozens of miscellaneous parts in your inventory
Guts Apr 24, 2024 @ 12:57pm
The vaulted stuff isn't gone forever. There's prime resurgence, where you can get certain vaulted relics for aya, which is a pretty common bounty reward and uncommon drop. You can buy the relics from other players, who still have them. And over time, they vault some relics and bring others back out. This makes the loot pool smaller, and more manageable for you. This way, you're not getting 1 part of each weapon and warframe, not being able to complete a set.

As for buying vaulted warframes and weapons, some are more valuable than others, but most are very affordable. It's usually less expensive to buy a slot and and orokin reactor from the store, while buying a prime warframe from a player, than to buy the non prime version from the store which already includes both of those extras.

Ok, so, initially this was done to clear out the drop tables - you farmed for parts by running endless missions and had a chance for the prime part to drop. As we got more and more stuff, the drop tables were being diluted to the point that you were looking at fraction of a percent chance each run.

The advent of relics sort of fixed that so vaulting could be considered an irrelevant legacy mechanic.

Kind of. If every relic was unvaulted, it would be a nightmare to find a radshare for each one. It would also cause players to burn out, by causing the more obsessive ones to farm everything in a few months. Warframe has fallen to predatory tactics in the past, but it's rare to find game devs that included a trigger in their game that says "You've been playing too long and should take a break", when they're trying to make money from people playing the game. They understand that part of the gameplay loop is not playing for some periods of time, whether that's for a few hours, a few days, or a few years. You can't truly enjoy a video game if it's your whole life, and many people would fall prey to the skinner box mechanics of this game if everything was grindable all the time. This is better for DE, and for the health of their players.
