Make sure it's the impact themselves killing them and not stuff like damage over time. And the power attack when turning into incarnon form does not count, only when it's in incarnon form and attacking. What I did was strip the overguard and use Radial Blind/Howl and Naramon's to dash stun to open them up to finishers.
If they die from say a heat status proc etc it wont count.
as i said this wasnt an issue with the other incarnon melees
The only thing that I think might cause the bug is the range increase. It might count as an extension of the weapon and not the weapon itself (Ex. Baruuck's Serene Storm that sends out wind waves).
Other modifications does not affect Ruvox opening.
For example, I opened 2nd stage using Kullervo (4th for combo and 1st for insta kill eximus) with Ruvox 5 forma spent. It had extended range, enemies suffered from constant slash procs and so on. But it opened just fine in Solo mode.
