Yes and no.
Since 1994, June was chosen as men's health month for mental illness. Yet not every country followed June as Men's mental health month for example like the UK they grew moustaches and beards to raise awareness for prostate and testicular cancer where the Movember came form.
So one was really for mental illness and the other was for cancers. Then when Pride took June then they tried to lump it all to November.
Pride is in June because of Stonewall, and that would be June 1969. Pride didn't 'take' June.
I took some time to read up on Stonewall and I will admit it makes sense for Pride to look into June 28 when it happened the start of pride. Then we have June 13th for MHA.
To be honest I still stand by my comments even if changed by you're details. Yet why not allow each side to just have those specific day's for them as an entire month seems a little excessive.
Respect is not something automatically granted. You wouldn't respect it if I, hypothetically, said that it's my culture to consider -your- culture to be dumb.
Let us hope.
Well to be fair June 28th is Stonewall so the birth of LGTB and now pride and let June 13th still be MHA. Each side is giving the same respect and fairness as a month seems a little to much to be honest.
In less than an hour you've changed to thinking a month is now too much for men's mental health? And as already stated, we already have a month for this. Movember supports The Movember Foundation, whose website has a section for "Mental health and suicide prevention", as well as other topics like testicular and prostate cancer.
In less then a hour a user named Daliena enlightened me with details that no other has done so far. Taking time to read into the matter it did change my prospective on the matter. After rethinking I was still bothered on the subject.
June was meant for mental illness and wellness check and November was for prostate and testicular cancer checks. Then when Pride month came into play then both were lumped into November to be honest I do get alloyed in November via mental health and cancer.
A months celebration for any side is to long for both November and June let it be a days event and be done with it to be fair for both sides as knowing about Stonewall now I can at-least understand why Pride wanted June and I can respect that.
Dinosaur frame when?
