DE & Warframe China Pride Censorship

As the title says while DE says that they support pride, Warframe China actively censors pride in general, yet people are praising them for clearly fake support only used to market and make themselves look good. DE refuses to explain this as well, hoping that staying quiet and ignoring this will make it so they don't get called out.

If people are actually supportive of pride they need to hold DE accountable for this instead of ignoring their obvious hypocrisy.

Modern companies are all about their public image, they rather embrace social frameworks that make them look good rather than giving their employees a raise, I guarantee it's mostly a mandatory "we support current thing" corporate manouvre for them to keep their investments in ESG, DEI and Tencent.

I'm not surprised. Companies like BMW do the same with the Middle East, or Disney, which moved John Boyega from the foreground to the background on the promotional posters in China. Activism often ends where financial risk begins.

Does anyone here remember DogManDan? One of the former content creators who has been producing warframe content since day 1, but since he had the wrong opinion on BLM (and even cited a pair of conservative black twins, so literal uncle toms!!!!) he was removed from the program, despite backlash from everyone, even the people who disagreed with him.

Yep, it's the same here and one of the things I thought of when I learned this. DE wants to act inclusive and like they care about pride when in reality they are nothing but dollar signs to DE and would even spit in their communities face if it mean more money which is why china one of the biggest markets in the world has pride censored.

All this yet there many people in these forums pretending that DE is representing them when in reality it couldn't be farther than the truth.

Welcome to four years ago. You gonna mention Leyou too? They've been involved with DE far longer than Tencent. 2014 to be exact. Yaknow what DE was doing all that time though? Absolutely nothing different. DE's been like this the whole time. Don't try to act like this is news.

Isn't that just the CCP being the CCP as usual? I'm shocked that many support the CCP/communism considering they REALLY don't like things that the west push as progressive. /shrug

What are you suggesting they do? Promote pride in china and get their game cut off? Not promote pride anywhere because they fear the wrath of china?

Yeah pick one or the other, they act like they are a progressive company talking about how they don't tolerate bigotry and are supportive of pride yet they are willing to throw all that away for a dip of china's gaming market. If they actually cared and had zero tolerance for bigotry they would stand up for what they claim to believe in for that version of the game as well.

Them consciously promoting it in one version while secretly censoring it and removing it from another (and consciously trying to hide that fact as well) shows that they are just hypocrites that could care less about actual pride and only see the pride movement and it's community as marketing tools. It's just plain hypocrisy and lying to not just the pride community but the rest of their community's face as well.

Personally I could care less about pride events and other stuff in the game as long as it isn't just fake virtue signaling like this that they push in your face to make themselves look good and pretend they are a good company, while doing the exact opposite as they claim in another version of the game then trying to hide it.
