How excatly does melee duplicate works?
Just bought a max rank. It says that when a crit hits, it deals double damage. But my riven made my weapon hit red crits already before i put the melee dup arcane on.

So after i put it on, i didnt notice a single double damage. I was still doing the same amount of red-crits and dmg as before.

Then i read online, it only works with lower crits, like yellow ones, so i nerf my wep to test it. And yes, i saw double damage, but the capabilities were the same as before. The amount of survival time my warframe could do, didnt change any. The amount of enemies killed also didnt change. Even though sometimes, i saw a yellow crit of 95k being doubled. But most of the time, i didnt see anything getting doubled.

So now im placing it on a different wep. And its weak af. Im pretty darn sure im doing this wrong, but if not then why tf does it have to be some complicated with dumb ass rules like this? Simple would be, Buy overpriced arcane>insert in wep>deal double damage.

But noooooo we gotta follow correct steps or w.e. its frustrating.

I just dont get it? How can i make it deal double damage all the time. =

(how can i make this not a waste of 2k p? lol)

It's not meant to be for red crit weapons. It basically procs another actual hit on base crit but that hit is still beholden to that weapon's stats, so it can crit or not. A weapon with red crit capabilities hitting a yellow will roll another hit that can be base or red crit.

Personally, it's more for weapons that have high crit (80-120) and high status chance for Condition Overload and double status procs.

It's definitely not the Diffusion/Chamber that people were hoping for.

you spent 2000 plat on it without knowing how it worked?

The ideal scenario is a weapon that has exactly 100% crit chance, and then you use the mod/arcane/whatever slots that would be increasing the critical chance more to instead overload the other stats (like status mentioned above) to make up for the lack of high value crits. For example, a melee weapon with 23% crit chance only needs a fully stacked Blood Rush to get just over 100%, so instead of putting any more critical chance mods (and maybe not critical damage mods either), you put more damage/status mods on.

It did not just say when a crit hit, it says when a Base crit hit the effect will occur.

thanks for this, along with 1st user.

But im wondering, doesnt increased combo (x12 ect) By nature means increased crit? So if i have a wep thats already 100%, hitting more enemies, will increase my combo, thus pushing it over 100%? or am i wrong on the combo count thing too?

Normal melee weapon attacks don't get any benefit from combo counter.

UNLESS you use the "Blood Rush" mod (or other combo scaling mods : "weeping wounds" / "Gladiator")
Now, at combo x12, Blood Rush (at max rank) increase Crit Chance by 440%.
Depending on the base crit chance (and modding ofc), the use of a fully ranked up "Blood Rush" mod might probably take your weapon into orange/red crit territory.

Heh, at least he learned an important life lesson that worth 2000 plats.
Should I say it was well spent?

I could've spend 2000$ for 20 years of Cornhub Premium though, for a longer term solution.

you can also just trade for plat though, 2k isn't that hard to make with the vast options of plat making, a lucky riven (Torid, Glaive, Phenmor, Latron ect ect) will give you like 600+ just with a ♥♥♥♥ roll. Arcane mods, and the fact that we can trade in arcanes to re-roll into hopefully more desirable ones, capitalizing on new prime releases since everyone pays 200p for an easy farm you can do for an hour. Ect ect

(prime) Mods, augments. vaulted warframes / weapons. Warframe.Market makes this dummy easy as you'd be an idiot to use the actual in-game trading chat and once you already have everything you want / need, well... what else is there to do with plat? But thats beside the point as its not the topic the OP wanted to discuss, I dont have any knowledge on that subject matter as I don't really care for Melee Duplicate so i'll see myself out.

So just before this thread gets pushed back into the depths of the internet in obscurity, for any future teno reading this, the take away i learned after spending a few days with it, is that:

1. If you are going to go for this arcane, then your main area to focus on your melee is status effects. One mod, such as blood rush, can give you the requirement for this arcane to proc.

2. Do not purposefully raise your crit rate to over 100%. This will hinder the arcane. So if your thinking like i did, that (i can just keep my weapon at over 300% crit and double hit red ones!) then dont. It wont work.

3. I do NOT think, repeat, DO NOT think this is the case for every weapon, but i went from dealing red crits down to just yellow. And the yellow crits hitting twice is out-dealing what my red ones did. Missions i couldnt do with the red ones, i can do now.

4. I think you should experiment with the gladiator set mods, because i noticed that blood rush was a little too OP, causing orange crits (weaker ones than double-hit yellows) to show. So scale 40% down to like 10, or 20. DEPENDING ON THE WEP.

Overall i think it was worth it. I would not recommend this for every wep. Just because my red-crits were lower than this arcane, doesnt mean your's will be. Especially if using styanx.

Use any weapon that has forced slash on heavy attacks
Mod a 2x heavy build using both sacrificial mods
DO NOT USE BLOOD RUSH
Enjoy 2 slash procs on heavies instead of one
