Stuck on Simaris Synth Scanning...
I just started trying to do Simaris missions... but nothing seems to work like it's meant to. I selected a "Personal Target' from the research station, and even though he will call out targets in appropriate missions, and I can track them down, trap them and synthesis them, it doesn't progress the research. Still says 0/10. Also, the research selections all have a "locked" symbol on them, even though I can select one and make it my "personal target". Maybe the "locked" symbol is normal here, idk.

Then I also have a daily for some Corrupted Grineer and I can't for the life of me get them to spawn in void Capture missions, which is where I was lead to believe I would most likely find them.

EDIT: I cancelled my previous Daily and started a new one, making sure my 'Personal Target' and Daily target were not possible to spawn in the same area. I went where the Daily target should be, and he called out a target for me, I synthesized it... but then went back, and no progress... and then I realized the target he sent me after wasn't the enemy named in my Daily (or personal target, for that matter.) Either I'm crazy or Simaris is totally bugged out for me.

EDIT2: It seems to be working now, after cancelling Daily, changing Personal Target, and restarting game. I can now do the Personal Target every time. I haven't tried the Daily yet cause I capped my standing before finishing the 10 Research targets.

What the game fails to tell us is that specific enemy variants can only appear at certain levels, ie the level ranges in the mission icon on the star chart. simaris personal targets and daily targets will only appear in missions with the right level range (terrible design, yes). You basically have to google what missions and at what level the targets will appear in.
This same incredibly annoying design choice hampers anyone with polychrome farming(which scales with clan level). So much fun getting 400 pigments from an enemy that only appears after ten minutes in one martian defense mission and then dissappears when the level range gets too high.

Also i'm not sure if you actually have to be present at the start of a mission (before the hosts loading screen ends) for them to actually spawn, but getting them to show up seems easier in solo.
