Just another MR 9 test rant.
This may end up being the deal breaker for me. I'm pretty new, and I've been enjoying the game, for the most part.... but certain things about it really bum me out. Grinding levels on gear I don't want to use, for example.

But the MR 9 test... so now I've got to master melee stealth kills in order to... you know, get on with mashing buttons and exploding everything on screen? It's super not fun for me. It's just an exercise in frustration.

I'm not looking for tips, btw. I've read the other threads, and tried the tips (that I have access to.) I'm just voicing my opinion. The MR 9 test sucks, and it isn't 'teaching' me anything useful, as far as I can tell.

Ok, rant over... go ahead and tear me apart. everyone. I can take it.

Fam, just use the Skiajati. Invisible on finishers.

Yeah it's an old MR test from the old days when Warframe was more about stealth and less "go as fast as you can and nuke everything."

Practice the test until you get a good route/plan down and then attempt it.

if thats the stealth kills one, I cheesed it with a gunblade because apparently the shots are silent and the enemies are weak enough to one shot with no mods so far enough away lets you snipe them all.. unless they changed it

Can also use a glaive. Could also use Wisp for the passive invisibility.

There was a time when stealth runs were a thing. Just wrap your head around it, like we all did. You need enemy radar and a bit of patience.

Well, I can partially agree. As a fresh MR8 want to complete it, you take your Rhino and some Broken War and try to sneak, which is a big challenge for MR8. I remember when I equipped Xoris after several failed attempts, and all the charm and challenge was gone...
Always remember that mastery rank denotes that a person has overcome these tests, not just farmed a lot of affinity.

Mastery tests are the one and only proof high level people actually know, somehow, the ins and outs of the game. Even if you cheese them in some ways, at least you "kobayashi maru-ed" them and deserve to pass.
They're actually piss easy now with the overabundance of frames, skills, weapons, special effects and stuff, back in the day there was no working around.
Sorry man, this is a clear case of "git gud".

Alright, I took a break and came back and did it. 2 successful practices and then the run.

Yeah that's exactly what I did. Anyway, I'm done being salty about it, for now at least.

I can't wait for the next one....

I still recall doing it back when we didn't had a Xoris so easily accessible and done with a Cerata (or some other initial Glaive sort of weapon, probably the Glaive Prime) and alongside with my Oberon or initial Mag after studying those foe patrolling patterns a little while.

you know you you can aim glide over the entire level right?

In my experience there were only about 3-4 of the 30+ MR tests I actively struggled with or had to practice more than once to be comfortable running. The next one for you was 17 or 19 (I forget which one). It involves having to parkour around a 2 level map with a melee weapon killing enemies and hitting these large orbs to get more time. Until you get to that test it should be smooth sailing

you are almost there, really. MR 14 is the last one to unlock anything and mr 9 you have 99% unlocked. There are less than 5 items each at 9, 11, 12 and 14 or something like that, and some of them are weirdo items that you probably won't use anyway like phage. Your grind is almost over, and you can slow it down at any time.

The low mr tests are from an age when warframe had actual gameplay involved instead of, as you put it, button mashing
