Machines don't bleed....
Jokes aside, Shiva is actually a good example for how it's done wrong, a needless change, disregarding the source mythologie.
Nezha however is a is the over example, he is a case, where the game devs actually did proper reseach/paid proper respect to the source material.
They are similar to the HiRez, the Smite devs.
So Nezha is male, since he is a he in his source material.
but since warframes are some kind of biomechs (organic machines - thus they bleed (out)) and surely are not reproducing they are genderless (why would anyone care at all what gender they have - they need to get things done). your operator is the one who isnt genderless (even if they not say it explicit when you are customize her/him).
And yes, Nezha is male according to Chinese Myth.
If my memory servers me right, DE_Rebecca even addressed his feminin stance in Nezhas reveal livestream and either DE_Scott or DE_Steve was very proud of the fact that Warframe is actually breaking up this stereo typical thinking.
Which is a very clear indication that the devs do absolutly consider him male.
Sadly, even if the dev confirm his gender, some of the other people would claim otherwise, to be clever, trolling or just narrowminded.
Well, sure, you are absolutly right there.
But it's still important to know sources and have proove.
Not for those people, but for people like ⌘ZᶌжɨЭ♊ЯцṂФГ♅ who are actually willing to learn about the lore of Warframe, or even better, the 'lore' of our very own world.
