DirectX 12 Not present in launcher API dropodown
As the title says I checked the Graphics API dropdown in the launcher settings and the only option is DX11.
I am running Windows 11, Ryzen 5 3600, RX5700XT latest drivers. In dxdiag it says DirectX Version: DirectX 12. Also i remember a few months back I did have the DX12 option and i was running it. But now it is missing.
Anyone have an ideas as to how i can enable DX12?

apparently there is a persistent issue with AMD cards crashing under DX12, so they simply turned it off if such a card is detected.

personally have an AMD RX480 (still) and I have not had crashing issues but its whatever, it does not really matter.

One would think more people crashing and sending reports about it would help but heck, what do I know anywho, yeah its turned off for AMD users atm.

Certain AMD cards are crashing with DX12 so they've disabled it until it can be fixed.

All AMD cards below 7xxx series have DX12 disabled

Yep same here. I have a 5600x with 6750xt and its disabled. I was having all kinds of weird issues and looking for a solution and then I so that on Christmas or the day before they removed it. But with Dx11 it was unplayable for me and now I can't get it to even launch. I tried everything except but a full reinstall which I'm doing now.

Does anyone else have issues currently? I was kept getting frozen, lost the use of my melee weapon and abilities for most the battle. I couldn't keep the Warframe from travelling by itself or moving diagonally and I had my frames drop to the teens with all my setting turned down. I had to go to 1080p with a refresh rate of 60. So I go on titan fall 2 and Starfield and both games worked like a dream at 2k and 144 fps with most option maxed out in titan fall 2 and in Starfield I was running over 60 fps for the most part and my temps were below 30 while Warframe was running in the upper 30 to upper 50's for my GPU

It was reliably crashing my Steam Deck once per mission. Good to know they turned it off to avoid anyone else having to troubleshoot.

yeah but that is so weird, the steamdeck uses a special APU with its own drivers let alone that the entire operating system is a specialized version of Linux.

Totally different situation.

It's made by AMD, so the driver probably has the same bug that's affecting every other system that was crashing due to Warframe Dx12 on AMD cards.

Aside from the unusual shape, the Steam Deck is just a regular-ass computer.

hmm I was having issues as well but using an NVidia card. I personally even went back to DX11 proactively. Game still has some issues on. Not too worried since it is very playable and its vacation time for DE

Well it would be good if the problem wasn't made worse. I read that someone said it was both a Microsoft and an AMD issue. I did a fresh install last night rolling back the to the previous driver but it was just as bad. I couldn't use my weapons, couldn't leave operator and I was outside of the game environment over the dome in the new whisper quest when the boss tossed me, lol.
I'd like to see if anyone else with the 6000 and 7000 series are having though type of issues on top of the lag. My frame won't track right and I keep running into walls, lol

Using dx12 and I notice some glitching with hdr and windows. But I think this might be a issue with current nvidia drivers. Im seeing the same thing in other games as well, and even the windows on my desktop are strange, I see black screens instead of previews for alot of windows. I hope its nvidias driver, or maybe my computer is hacked. :shrugs:

Well. The AMD Radeon Fury, Fury X, Vega56, Vega64, 5700, 5700xt, W5700, and 6700xt all worked perfectly fine for me using the DX12 beta option. Never got a crash at all.

Did you play Whispers In The Walls on DX12? Because the optimized shaders from that update are what caused the driver crash.

RX480 user still here, and I did not have crashing issues using DX12 either, but again, its not like it matters, DX12 does not offer anything above DX11, maybe if Warframe ever gets Ray Tracing ;)

I have just recently finished the Whispers for Warframe and at that time did NOT have the DX12 option.
