So I was about to do "The New War" quest, but in order to do this I need to craft a voidrig, So in order to do this I had to increase my standing with the family on Deimos in order to have blueprints for some resources. Now once I've grinded enough to craft these resources I know have a quarter of the resources needed for each of the voidrigs components. There're four of them. Each of the components requires a resource, the blueprint of which can be bought from a merchant in Deimos each of which requires a different level of standing to use. Following along? No? Too bad, now assuming you could craft all of these components for the voidrig itself, Then once you've waited twelve hours for each you can craft the Voidrig with a 72 hour craft time. All for something that has a fifteen minute role in "The New War." The quest I was originally trying to do. Welcome to ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ warframe!

The reason The New War requires them is so that DE knows anything they make that has The New War as a requirement can have Nercramechs in them

The Necramech grind is the single worst bit of progression I've ever experienced in a video game and almost put me off of Warframe for good. Making it mandatory for a 15 minute tailing mission where it gets destroyed at the end was like a slap in the face.

Warframe is a grinding game, there is no way you can reach the final quest lines and be suddenly caught off guard by faction reputation, gear requirements, and crafting timers when that's all introduced at the start of the game. It's not like the necramech and cambion drift are some tiny little side quest either, you get various in-game messages and quests pointing you there and telling you that you will need it. Sure, the current content for it is pretty limited compared to the rest of the game, but that just means they should be adding more. It's just a bad faith argument to present it as some new player gotcha when this is a late-game "issue" that can be circumvented by paying attention to what the game tells you.

Not to mention that yeah, voidrig sets are selling for like 80p lol, which shouldn't be hard to get for anybody who has reached far enough into the game to play the new war if they really don't want to do it the normal way

It's the mining grind that I'm currently on. And of course I need a ♥♥♥♥ load of standing in order to actually do it

I think lots of people hate the Necramech grind but many misunderstand why, rather than the fact you have to grind in a grind heavy game, it's the fact that this particular grind is excessively roundabout, confusing and downright overwhelming. There's like 4 different layers to what you have to grind and the game doesn't even make an attempt to guide the player through the process.

The exact reason I'm mad about this, the fact I've been grinding for four hours so far and have only gotten a quarter or a quarter of the resources needed in order to build the full necramech. And eighty percent of that time was spent bashing my head through the computer screen repeating the words "I don't want to do this." each time.

Also the grind is so jarring going from prelude to war, to "Hey you gotta grind this machine for a few hours and go back to Deimos."

Exactly, it's meant as an equipment checkpoint. It's also why we finally have post level 100 content after it on the Starchart.

Also ofcourse you gotta need to grind a lot, if that's not your cup of tea why even bother with this game. You alway's have the option to skipp some grind parts with just paying.

Oh I agree completely, but every free-to-play game goes by the logic either grind or pay.

As a side note, I would like to point out that you can easily obtain Cranial Foremount from Myxostomata without the need to max Entrati standing. It can be farmed very quickly from pylons.

This week I reinstalled for the first time in awhile and had this quest available - checked the requirements to get the Necramech, pulled up a YT video to see the fastest way to farm it - then uninstalled.
