New players take this as a warning
So I was about to do "The New War" quest, but in order to do this I need to craft a voidrig, So in order to do this I had to increase my standing with the family on Deimos in order to have blueprints for some resources. Now once I've grinded enough to craft these resources I know have a quarter of the resources needed for each of the voidrigs components. There're four of them. Each of the components requires a resource, the blueprint of which can be bought from a merchant in Deimos each of which requires a different level of standing to use. Following along? No? Too bad, now assuming you could craft all of these components for the voidrig itself, Then once you've waited twelve hours for each you can craft the Voidrig with a 72 hour craft time. All for something that has a fifteen minute role in "The New War." The quest I was originally trying to do. Welcome to ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ warframe!

not really a troll, the dudes right the requirement of needing railjack and necramech is pointless and stupid since you use both for 5 minutes each just give the people a loaner one

it already easy , in the past you have to grind yourself.

No, it really is. It's like complaining about having to find all Sigils in Metroid Prime 1 or whatever they were called in 2, never mentioned anywhere else in the game but you HAVE to find them across the entire game just to unlock a single door to fight the final boss. It's the end of the game, no ♥♥♥♥ they want you to play the game. And here you could skip it too and even then it only gatekeeps story crap and a few crap Duviri weapons, maybe just Incarnon stuff is bad to miss.

I feel like you don't really enjoy this game, you could stop triying.

Necramech grind is actually more beneficial to you than you realize.

Is it annoying that a main quest requires a very out of the way thing that is only used briefly anyway? Very much so.

But along the path of grinding your Necramech you'll rank up The Family which is necessary for several features in the game (Ex. Helminth). You'll also be doing Isolation vaults which give a good chunk of resources if you open the vault itself, many of which are useful to newer players. Plus refined gems and fish can be traded allowing friends to help with part of the grind or using the player market.

Is it ideal? No, not at all. But it's not as bad as you think it is and if I'm being perfectly honest, it works as a good stopgap for new players entering higher level content that is post New War (excluding if you buy the Necramech out right).

Spend time working on your Warframes, schools, and weapons while you grind your Necramech. You'll be doing yourself a favor in later content and believe me, rushing into it doesn't do yourself or anyone else any favors.

I also want to add that needing a Necramech is a better alternative than having more content being mastery locked.

You did it wrong your not supposed to actually grind the materials your supposed to just grind for plat then buy it premade. Its only 80 plat which is nothing. I havent used any money in warframe and was able to do it easily and fast.

If I didn't enjoy the game I'd have stopped playing and stopping grinding

I searched voidrig set and its listed as 75p two posts then rest are 1 for 80p. Warframe markets page is little buggy with sorting cost aleca frames ui works better.

The Necramech grind is the single worst bit of progression I've ever experienced in a video game and almost put me off of Warframe for good. Making it mandatory for a 15 minute tailing mission where it gets destroyed at the end was like a slap in the face.

It makes sense from a progression viewpoint, but the problem is Deimos is off the main path, and there is absolutely no content that requires Necramechs besides New War. Not to mention Necramechs are just worse Warframes in every possible way. Railjack is also dead-end content that is never required outside of New War, either.
I don't agree with you on necramechs being worse warframes. Bonewidow is pretty trash but Voidrig is a monster. turning into a turret that can OHK basically everything is pretty potent.

As a simple counter: What warframe can 2-3 shot Eidolon parts without using their gun?
I agree, but they're not wrong on necromechs not having enough content. You spend dozens of hours farming for them and their mods to barely ever use them.

Warframe is a grinding game, there is no way you can reach the final quest lines and be suddenly caught off guard by faction reputation, gear requirements, and crafting timers when that's all introduced at the start of the game. It's not like the necramech and cambion drift are some tiny little side quest either, you get various in-game messages and quests pointing you there and telling you that you will need it. Sure, the current content for it is pretty limited compared to the rest of the game, but that just means they should be adding more. It's just a bad faith argument to present it as some new player gotcha when this is a late-game "issue" that can be circumvented by paying attention to what the game tells you.

Not to mention that yeah, voidrig sets are selling for like 80p lol, which shouldn't be hard to get for anybody who has reached far enough into the game to play the new war if they really don't want to do it the normal way

There's more to the mech than the five minutes of gameplay in New War. Consider it an investment.
LizBlizz Dec 19, 2023 @ 7:58pm
I think lots of people hate the Necramech grind but many misunderstand why, rather than the fact you have to grind in a grind heavy game, it's the fact that this particular grind is excessively roundabout, confusing and downright overwhelming. There's like 4 different layers to what you have to grind and the game doesn't even make an attempt to guide the player through the process.
