ngl, dissapointed in the grimoire mods
when they said we'd be getting mods to change the grimoire i was expecting new spells or attacks with could use with it to customise our grimoire to us. instead we just got... not focus abilities. doesn't help that it starts to struggle with killing on SP, and lacks the range to be an effective primer

It is the first weapon of its kind and does not require farming, obviously it is not going to be the best option.

nataruk

1st of the "perfect shot" bow subtype, still arguably the best

It was not a new type of weapon and perfect shots have always existed in those types of weapons. The only difference is that with Nataruk the perfect shot has increased damage and with the previous bows it simply served you to shoot earlier with maximum damage.

a max charge is not a perfect shot. a "perfect shot" is spesifically given unique damage and property values in the stats, like with nataruk and cinta

the worst part is, the attacks are boring and not much different from tossing a tonkor into a crowd except its main fire is even slower
could have given us anything
a ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ lightning bolt coming down where we point
a void rift
who ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ knows
its a magic ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ book powered by warframe space magic which has no stated limit this book could have cured and given the grineer space cancer 2 electric boogaloo but no they just made it go pew
not interesting pew
simple, slow, passably damaging pew

I checked all the book mods too. Most of them require you to hit 10/15 enemies with your alt attack to get the full +60% buff to Str/Dur/Eff... for 20sec. Which is literally nothing - because instead of actually enjoying said buff... You'll spend the next 20 seconds re-charging the book's alt fire charge again (by *hitting* enemies) and either kiting enemies towards you to get 10/15 of them in line/group... or having to spend energy on some grouping ability (if you even have one). You'll be wasting time trying to keep the buff up instead of using it.

They should extend the duration to 40 seconds AT LEAST to make those useful. Or 60 secs even. THEN I'd gladly use this "spellbook" with one of those Str/Dur/Eff mods. But in current shape..? Yes. Gimmick MODS at best. For a gimmick weapon, at best.

The only few mods that could be semi-useful in super niche builds are that one with energy regen (maybe), one that strips armor/shields (maaaaaybe), fire rate buff to the whole team (30% is mostly meaningless, but eh, it's exilus slot), but that's it. Because usually there are way better alternatives for all of those things.

It's fun, but lackluster. The book itself and its mods.

I already hate weapon skins in Warframe, as I'd rather take new mastery fodder or competent weapons with those models.
For older types of weapons it's not that bad.

But come on, launching a new weapon type with skins just annoys me so much, as those could've just easily been made into progression rewards with alternate secondary fire options.

I'm pretty much done with the update already, and aside from lore there isn't much to get from ranking the syndicate, and every time I see the Grimoire skins on the marketplace I just sigh.

the same weapon on the Operator instead with a lot of animations. But nah, why give the Operator a Book. Amp is enough, lets give the cool Duviri swords and the book to the warframes instead... No Altar in my Operator Room with an alternative to all the amps!

Missed Opportunities, now we have a cool gimmick with mediocre stats we can show off in our ship on an Altar, which cannot show any of the REALLY cool weapons, but there was an option to make it epic by simply placing it on the Operator instead! All Stats, Mechanics and even the Altar would suddenly make real sense with a Book at my Operator's Belt!

Subjective Opinion, ignore it. Because this thing is less than mediocre in comparison to some Weapons we normally carry in the Pistol Slot!

I would say Grimoire is an amazing utility piece. Infinite ammo, decent radius on alt and energy/eff,dur and str buffs?

This means less forma required on a frame to make it OP.
It's sorta disappointing it feels vaguely ehhhhh and likely exists purely just to be a sort of stat booster. I dunno, I would have liked a weird ♥♥♥♥♥♥ up magic book that was a good weapon itself. Maybe featuring some more... interesting magic.
