This game is based on peer-to-peer matchmaking.
This , and 90% of the Players hosting and playing with Laptop "WIFI" ..
So enjoy the lags and have funn playing Bugframe :)
WHY HAVE YOU FORSAKEN ME
Relax it is like it is .. Game is much buged and we all know it , and peoples joining and hostign with por internet and causing a huge ping to another players so we all have to deal with this...
You must be lucky one if this option wroks for you , maybe a Placebo Effect..
This is Not working on here...
I am using a Ping limmit already for years now at "100" but my ping can sometimes jump up to a joke one like 800 if soeone joing that causing a high ping...And even if i dont have any delays in game or lags , by checking ping i never seen it 100 or less , its ever around 120+ and much more.. So the option "Ping Limmit" is simply not working like it should work..
PS: All this "s h i t" happens only if im in Random Online playing ( when mates are busy to play atm ) , if i play with my friends where i known that they are equipment right for online gaming , stuff like high ping , delays , crashes etc never happens...
Somewhere between 125 and 300ms. Based on what I can see when I play online but with very close friends (workstations are a few meters away BUT the net traffic still goes out to the ISP and back, with a ping of 50~65ms). I can't tell for sure if it's a fixed or adaptive tick rate either but during video recording, the delay is between what I record on one PC and another is about that much (if he's the host and I do something, about 1/8 of a second later, it displays for him).
I don't think they measure your 'ping' long enough to do this properly... imagine having to wait 5 minutes before each match just to be sure the game chooses the right host.
The 'ping limit' still works but if you set it to 100ms, you'll still get match-maked to a host with 200ms... perhaps they are doing a 'better than nothing' scenario as opposed to '100ms or no-way'.
I play on a laptop and so is my brother.
We're both playing via wi-fi and the fact is that the game VERY rarely lags wether I'm hosting or not.
Think I've had something like 1 laggy match in the last 150 or so hours...
