Soma incarnon feels pretty underwhelming.
What was fun with the Soma prime was the insane fire rate and seeing orange to red crits if modded correctly.
This is no longer a thing with the incarnon mode.
Sure it does a lot of damage but it feels wrong at least for me.
Disappointed with this new incarnon adapter.

Then don't use the incarnon mode, nobody forces you to use it.
You can you just enjoy the extra base stats to make your Soma stronger.

Yea sure, don't use the incarnon mode which is the reason the adapter was installed in first place smh.
Don't worry in few days most people will feel the same, another mid tier incarnon.
Even Braton incarnon is better lol.
Back in the vault goes the Soma prime.

Not everyone installs the adapter just to use the incarnon mode.
I use my atomos with the adapter to make its base stats stronger, because the regular Atomos beam feels more enjoyable than the incarnon version.
Those base stats are game changer.

The biggest disappointment is that the incarnon doesn't really change how the weapon is used. Hit-scan bullet hose still just evolves into a hit-scan bullet hose. I was watching people use it on streams and often couldn't tell if they were in incarnon form or not. Shot behavior was near indistinguishable and time to kill didn't really change that much either. Magazine size is even the same between the two modes. The only advantage I can think of is that constantly switching between the two modes improves ammo efficiency?

Displayed mag size never changes with incarnon, since incarnon modes spend the charge bar. Soma's incarnon mode is an extremely long range automatic shotgun.

But yes, like the felarx, the incarnon mode wants entirely different modding than the base mode. But the evolution bonuses still massively buff the base mode, especially if your frame meets the armor requirement to enable the 4m of punch through.

It's always interesting when people decide to defend a poorly balanced weapon by saying just don't use it.

Displayed mag size does change with Incarnon. I'm surprised you didn't google or youtube check this before posting such a claim. Torid goes from 5 rockets to 170 beam charge in Incarnon. Burston goes from 45 rounds to 600 rounds in Incarnon. Vasto goes from 6 rounds to 24 in Incarnon. Strun goes from 10 to 40 rounds in Incarnon.

Of course the base bonuses are good for the weapon, but the point of adding an Incarnon is the contrast between the normal and Incarnon attributes. Otherwise it's not really any different than slapping a nice Riven on the weapon.

the balance of this game is: is it popular? nerf it.
is it too weak to be viable? na, leave it be... we will nerf it later
