this game is nothing like dark sector. while dark sector was a singleplayer story shooter. warframe is an online MMO-lite with ARPG elements. you can try it if you like, but don't go in expecting dark sector 2

It has story in it. For most players this is not the "main" game but a few have actually fun with it. Dark Sector is canon and part of the warframe world so .... maybe you can enjoy it.

You are not playing a story all the time like in Dark Sector or Call Of Duty. If you have ever played RPG games you get story in small doses. You are most of the time farming, seeking better loot and increasing your power until you can progress in the story again.
