Warframe 1999 is a waste of DE's time
I'm sorry but that's just what It is. An utter waste of DE's time and money. I get that new content sells more than updating old but why cant they at least develop content relevant to the game? I want to play warframe. I want to play with the weapons and frames that I've spent far too much time on. And instead of developing content that does that they keep adding side projects over and over again.

I really liked Railjack because of it offering to bring all these different parts of the game together. But not only is Railjack its own island, they are now adding more islands that Railjack will never be able to connect with if they ever update it to be what they actually promised it would (spoiler they wont).

And while they are spending dev time on all this guff they then cant be bothered to evolve their retention scheme beyond syndicates. The game is bloated with syndicates. Zariman should never have had one. IMO Zariman should have been an endless mission akin to palace of the dead from FF 14.

I love this game. But the direction they are going in is really starting to wear down my enthusiasm for it.

Now, I'm not really excited for 1999 anymore because I know it'll be a grindfest after doing like 30 minutes of walking with 5 minutes of story telling and lore.

But, do the people that want "Warframe to stay warframe" ONLY want node missions? If that's true, what sort of new content do you even want? The only thing that'd be possible is new weapon mechanics (not /just/ new weapons), new mission mechanics (not just mission types which reuse other mission types' objectives) and new, unique warframes (not just a new titty model that uses 3 other frames' abilities).

We barely get any of those things, and half the time the new frame is truly unique.

Obviously DE isn't interested or capable of doing 'Warframe' as it was anymore. It's time for y'all to take your own advice; "This game isn't for you and you should find the [corridor-shooter] you want to play."
Honestly my main gripe with some of this stuff isn't moreso the mechanics but rather the fact it feels like soft resets with new ""characters"" every time. What's the point in collecting and building such a big arsenal of frames like Pokemon if we don't get to USE them for most of the new content if at all? That's what I meant when I talked about Duviri.

Like, if the content was the same but we played as our frames still I wouldn't mind it. It just feels like they want to stray away from the frames the whole damn game's built around. It's frustrating because it feels like Pokemon trying to, well.. stray away from the pokemon. Like they're trying to get rid of the "frame" in "Warframe" you know?

I can get behind that. One bad example is new war. "MakE Sure you buIlD YoUr RailJAckS. YoU'll neED tHeM for THe neW WAr".

Obvious bull crap since story missions are always low level. No reason for anyone to build one for that trivial portion of the quest.

Yeah, exactly. The actual new content ITSELF is okay, but just the fact that it's usually locked behind some arbitrary new restriction. Like a new character (drifter/operator/""vehicle"") or new story segments that are basically glorified cutscenes is annoying.

Speak for yourself, some of us want more story content.

As long as that story content is "glorified cutscenes" and not some new war ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ with locking you out of your warframe for hours. Games like this are not about the story just some epic narrative cutscene would actually be enough
Like Kahl and that corpus guy gameplay segments could've been fit into just two skippable cutscenes same with drifter and then you'd straight up start with your warframe maybe playing as drifter. That'd would be just AWESOME but no they had to make the worst quest ever

Haven't touched anything from New War on because nothing past that point really offered anything I was looking for, other than the apartment; which I really feel should have been located in the guild.

Before that some things were great, some things were terrible but at least you were offered the choice for the most part to play/avoid what you wanted to.

There are some things I enjoyed that others didn't, and some things others enjoyed that I didn't but that is normal for most games as we are all individuals and each have our own tastes. It is natural for players to come and go as games progress and evolve.

I left when it became painfully clear the devs were going in a direction that felt wrong to the version of Warframe I had become used to. There is nothing wrong with that type of evolution as I am a player and not one of the developers. It is their game/their vision not mine after all.

With over 5k+ hours in play I still feel the developers have provided me with an awesome experience and I have more than received my money's worth from the initial investment that I made.

While I can't attest to the content past New War I would still recommend this game to others with the confidence that there is really nothing to lose in trying it out.

Just remember that games and players both evolve over time so enjoy what you can while you can and don't be afraid of moving on to new things when the time comes.

According to current player reviews, the haters are wrong. Again. As always.

hahaha, "haters" = anyone with a different opinion. You people really got to work on your language and reasoning ability.
There's a lot of valid criticism, but as per today's "fashion" you shouldnt say anything and agree.

Nah, haters = the portion of the fanbase that needlessly ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ about literally everything DE does and is never satisfied with anything they release, yet still stick around to play anyways. They hate for the sake of hating, have no realistic expectations of any kind, and despise change even though this game has been defined by change for almost its entire existence.

As a 10 year vet, it's really cool seeing Dark Sector get a second pass. As for old content, it's cool that for once we have an upcoming update to polish it up. If you dig the old content, go and enjoy it. A cool new thing doesn't take away from old enjoyable content. DE has always been about adding new content to their game and moving forward. It's weird to single out railjack, most of the game are separate islands of content as you put it. Railjack isn't special. This has been an issue since conclave was added.

There are certain things you expect from the genre. Warframe is pretty much an arpg it shouldn't try to become soulslike rogue like or space sim or whatever else
Don't fix what is not broken. The game is absolutely amazing and perfect at it's core it doesn't need to be something else

you're simplifying it for your own taste, change does not equal good. That change is exactly what's being discussed.
It can actually be the case that the majority of the changes do not fit senior players of this game.
It's so easy to brush aside everything in a "hater" box, like we seem to do with every hard topic these days.

Would DE announce they are just working on a new tileset for regular WF gameplay, people would be complaining regardless.

Actually, wait. They JUST announced a new tileset with new faction, but that apparently doesn't matter. Let's ♥♥♥♥♥ about 1999 instead, of which we know absolutely nothing. Might be regular Warframe gameplay. Might be a cinematic quest. Nah, let's ♥♥♥♥♥ and whine about it.

Facts! I can never understand how people always say that change is good no matter what and that is an "evolution" :steamfacepalm:
