Of course they did just to be funny.
Steam forums 'logic' is always kinda of funny to see even if there is rarely ANYTHING logical about it.
but it would be cool if they make warframe 1999 a continous campaign like a mini series like once a year (yes i know they never never ever will)
You will find it in the youtube channel: orionsgear.
Maybe Lore will help you to feel some Hype, OP.
1. I agree that the mechanics and resources in each "type" of content do not overlap creating situations where you have to grind something new to acquire the new toys. I counter-argue, what would the alternative be? Let veterans who have millions of resources skip all the new content, buy the new things instantly and directly and then complain that there's nothing to do?
2. I disagree that the content is entirely mechanically separate from the rest of the game. You still acquire new weapons, frames, companions, and tools that can be used throughout the game.
3. I also say that the "islands" are tied to the main game through a very in-depth story only SOME of which is told through the cinematic quests. There is tons of lore and information about the factions and worlds we visit hidden within those worlds and tilesets for us to find if we WANT to look for it. They don't shove the majority of the story down our throats. Complaints about 1999 are overlooking how this could tie together portions of the story we had been lacking information on, then pose more questions for later content, and also allow the devs to re-imagine and re-explore their 1st major project.
4. For those who only care about the simplest style of gameplay in warframe (frame + gun + melee), anything that deviates from this feels WRONG. Playing as Khal feels wrong because he's too slow, his "abilities" are weak, he doesn't have a wide variety of weapons, and therefore playing as him doesn't appeal to their sense of a power fantasy. But I would argue that his missions are in many ways a response to veterans asking for difficult challenge modes in the game. DE gave you a "frame" named Khal who is weaker than normal, gave him guns you cannot mod, and designed environments where there are enemies that are ACTUALLY threatening to you. The core gameplay is still there, but it has been tweaked to be a challenge in a way you can't just bypass with extra gear. DE gave us what a lot of us had been asking for, but they dared to do it in a way that LOOKED different than we expected.
but i wanna add, i love Khal Missions and what you call content isles. It is the Game for me with different, very rewarding and variety-inducing game modes. Best thing about the Kahl Missions are the Bolkor Rides and the Communication with Daughter. Every second with her on comms makes me happy. She is a Beauty!
Yes I meant to quote your post. I would kind of doubt OP would actually care what I had to say because I don't 100% agree with their opinion.
I was using the term content island because it is a common phrase used elsewhere, but I don't entirely agree with HOW it is used. The game modes and resources can be somewhat unique, but everything so far has been tied together by story and a core gameplay style. And yes, I too like Khal missions! For much the same reasons as you mentioned. My only "issues" with them is my own occasional lack of skill, and the fact that a few of the weekly challenges can be a bit more tedious that I would like (small number of collectibles with far too many potential spawn points to check).
But personally i'd say railjack should be cut from the game... and archwings... and open worlds... and duviri
Just leave the bounties on star chart nodes lmao
Like who thought it's a good idea? Especially stealth missions they would've been a blast if they'd allow you to play as warframe like Loki or Ivara or Wukong but no they force you play the stupid grineer
But, do the people that want "Warframe to stay warframe" ONLY want node missions? If that's true, what sort of new content do you even want? The only thing that'd be possible is new weapon mechanics (not /just/ new weapons), new mission mechanics (not just mission types which reuse other mission types' objectives) and new, unique warframes (not just a new titty model that uses 3 other frames' abilities).
We barely get any of those things, and half the time the new frame is truly unique.
Obviously DE isn't interested or capable of doing 'Warframe' as it was anymore. It's time for y'all to take your own advice; "This game isn't for you and you should find the [corridor-shooter] you want to play."
I personally would like a system like diablo 3 greater rifts or straight up another difficulty level with lvl cap only enemies and in general more endless farmable missions with more random maps would be nice
But only warframe gameplay...
