The main quest.
The Duviri Experience
The Circuit.
--
The story isn't really there. The lore is half-arsed on it - if you like story or lore, despite anticipations, the Duviri Paradox offers basically nothing new. The quest isn't exactly great, it's really just there as an option for new players.
These Warframes and weapons all have your personalised loadouts available to choose from (mods) as well as a Default mod loadout (which is usually terrible).
Once chosen you can only change your mind whilst in Teshin's Cave. As soon as you leave the cave the choice is locked in and will remain as such until you finish the mission.
The Story:
There is a 'primary story' for the Duviri Paradox, which isn't really a story, it's more like your typical open-world bounty. A multi-stage mission that requires completion of smaller objectives. The story is told from the perpective of a Narrator and through dialogue from one of several new characters - the nature of the story is based on the 'Mood Spiral' of Duviri. More on that further down.
Each of the 'primary stories' will have 2 objectives to enter the Undercroft. More on that further down.
The final part of the story will be to battle the boss of Duviri Paradox. The Orowyrm. Depending on the Mood Spiral, the colour of the boss is different, but the mechanics are not. Steel Path mode does have a variation to the mechanics of the boss fight however. The Orowyrm boss is fought using the Warframe, and access to the Operator or Drifter is restricted (so no relying on your Operator for survival). The rewards for the boss fight are Pathos Clamps, a chunk of intrinsics and some materials. Steel Path mode offers the same rewards, but in higher quantity, and some Steel Essence.
The Open World:
The open world contains a variety of small objective-based 'anecdotes' that range from finding a hidden chest, killing waves of enemies, shooting targets within a VERY forgiving time limit, racing through the sky on horseback (currently disabled, temporarily apparently), solving puzzles, playing the Shawzin, eating fish, playing 'Go for Kids' (check out the board game 'Go' if you're interested) and some other objectives.
Completion of each of these anecdotes will reward some materials, some Drifter intrinsics and a Decree.
Decrees are varied buffs. Some are simple stat boosts, others have unique properties - they combine to make some really powerful builds (and if you play in the open-world long enough you can unlock them all to be obscenely overpowered) - however, the only last until the end of the mission. Once you exit the open-world they all reset. This is the 'rogue-like' element DE were trying to accomplish.
Mood Spirals:
Mood Spirals affect a few things. As mentioned, they determine the 'protagonist' of that Spiral's story as well as the colour of the Orowyrm (and element of the boss). They also impact the geography of the open-world.
For the most part, Duviri is consistent. Most of the open-world is always present. However, certain Mood Spirals introduce unique areas that aren't present during other Spirals.
In addition, the Spiral also impacts certain abilities of the enemies. They get one or two unique attacks for each Spiral and it affects the elemental damage they inflict.
Lastly, the Spiral changes the colour palette of the open-world and the skybox.
The Undercroft is the most familiar part of Duviri. The Undercroft is comprised of a small number of new arenas set in 'void-space' where you take part in the usual old game-modes. Defence, Survival, Excavation, Extermination and the more recent Void Flood. The Circuit is an endless activity, and each 'round' will be a short version of the above (i.e. 5 minutes of Survival, then 3 Excavators, then Extermination, then 5 waves of Defence etc.).
You will do these in your Warframe, and will have access to your Operator/Drifter and typical Operator/Drifter Amp, Arcanes and Focus School abilities.
Each round in the Circuit nets intrinsics, a Decree, some Duviri materials and 'Circuit Progress'. This will be explained in the rewards section. You can also obtain an extra Decree per round by finding the 3 fragments hidden around each map (they have consistent but randomised spawn points - so learning these spawns makes it very quick to obtain all 3 for that extra Decree).
The Circuit itself is separate from the Open-World. It can be accessed from your Orbiter just like any other mission, and it will chuck you straight into the Warframe game modes after you have chosen your gear.

The Undercroft as part of the Duviri Experience:
As aforementioned, 2 of your 6 objectives in the story of the Spiral will be in the Undercroft. All Decrees obtained during the open-world segment will apply to your Warframe and Operator - meaning you will be extremely OP.
Open-World:
- 5 new melee weapons. The Dual Katanas aforementioned obtained through the Main Quest and 4 others obtainable through killing the Orowyrms and obtaining Pathos Clamps - these can then be purchased in Teshins Cave for Pathos Clamps. Obtaining the melee weapon unlocks it for the Drifter and grants you a blueprint to craft a version wieldable by the Warframe.
- A bow. Blueprints for the bow and parts can be obtained by solving puzzles in the open-world.
- Intrinsics. The Rank 9 Intrinsics offer bonuses that apply outside of Duviri, however, this can be a bit of a grind to obtain.
- Acrithis. A Vendor found in the open-world or at the Dormizone on the Zariman. Sells a variety of high quality products, including Forma, Adapters, Catalysts and Reactors, Rivens, Kuva and at Rank 9 Opportunist Intrinsics will also sell new Arcanes. There are also captura scenes, some decorations and basic resources from the Origin System (at awful conversion rates).
Acrithis sells most of their items for Pathos Clamps, but some things are sold for Duviri materials - and at the moment the prices are absolutely ridiculous. Hopefully it gets patched, but I doubt it. The resource farm in Duviri is abysmal.
The Circuit:
The Circuit contains things called 'Reward Paths'. There is one for the Normal Circuit and one for the Steel Path Circuit.
The Normal Circuit offers access to basic loot such as randomised mods, a Warframe, an augment for that Warframe and a 'legacy Arcane' (i.e. not one of the new Arcanes). This reward path is for newer players really.
The Steel Path Circuit offers the main rewards. New Arcanes, Rivens, Adapter Blueprints, Resources, Steel Essence and most importantly Incarnon Genesis.
Each reward path is a weekly path. There are 10 Ranks, and each week you can obtain two Incarnon Geneses. Once the 10 Ranks are obtained, bonus ranks can be acquired for additional loot such as more new Arcanes, Endo and Credits.
Incarnon Genesis:
Incarnon Genesis you will be familiar with if you've used the Incarnon Weapons from the Angels of the Zariman update.
Each week you can choose two of five weapons to obtain genesis for. Once you've unlocked the genesis by completing enough of the Circuit, you can upgrade the specified weapon at Cavalero (for resource costs using Duviri materials) to unlock the Incarnon mode. Then complete specific objectives to level up the incarnon. So far, these weapons are very good.
---
So, that's the main gist of Duviri. If you don't like the open-world, you will still probably enjoy the Circuit. It's traditional Warframe gameplay but with the addition of Decrees to make it more fun. However, to obtain most of the rewards you will still need to farm resources through the open-world.
