Very cool "le elden ring" combat lmao. DE made me spend 1k plat on new weapons because no way I'm going to farm them.
In fact, the Drifter isn't even the operator, why would they have all our over-powered stuff any way? DE should have forced us to use only the default warframes and default weapons with their choice of mods to make the experience more authentic.
Plus, you can rank up unused items that you've never used before. So, it is a win-win in the long run
Drifter melee may be rough in spots, and sometimes klunky, but it's a lot more immersive, relaxing and imo FUN than normal warframe melee.
And I am saying this as a long time warframe player.
It's only an excuse and doesn't make it a good thing for the game. Especially after the quest is over. This is the latest iteration of a pattern of them doing this. Why bother acquiring Warframes and weapons at all if it's never going to matter? Why should we care about playing as the Drifter (or Railjack, Archwing, Necramech, Operator, ect) when the pattern suggests they'll be rendered pointless as well?
I think a better solution is instead of making us start over again and again in a vain attempt to challenge us (which doesn't work. There's always a bunch of people whining how nothing is challenging no matter what) is to go back to all these half-baked ideas and really buckle down on refining and improving them. They have potential, they just have to be realized instead of letting a bunch of bored, childish elitists prompt them to chase one fad after another.
Being forced to use other gear and do things differently is the bees knees
Additionally, being stripped of power was expected, it was clearly stated this was for new players as a point of entry to the game, pretty easy to deal with
Considering after leveling specific drifter intrinsic and collecting decrees made my drifter a melee demon in Steel Path.
Sure it's rough start. It just build up toward easier melee com at when you figure out how decrees work and doing some easy side missions to get those few first decrees.
