This is better, less crits = better for infarnon weapons if you pickup the right setup

When you go to where you got your weapon and evolve them, read the description of the perks.

Negative crit chance effectively caps at 0%. It would be funny if it gave you a chance of 'negative crits' that dealt less damage than normal based on your crit damage, but all it does is make it so you can't crit.

Imho, the Laetum is very powerful secondary (2nd'ry) weapon that if evolved right (according to your play style too, ofc) and have it mod'ed at least half right it can have devastating effects... particularly if you're aiming for headshots (and also happen to be using an Ivara's while her Prowl's (3rd skill) maintains her invisible and increases the headshot critical damage.

And that's mostly why I've picked the less recoil evolution because that way I won't have to spend a mod slot for that. And thus leaves me a tad more available space to have it Hush'ed and thus keep Ivara's invisibililty or my Wisp when she also using the Aero Vantage mod to assist her aerial invisible time (due to her passive) and more time for aim gliding too.

It means you bought a riven with more than -100% crit on it for a small fortune and you know exactly what that means lmao.

I mean sure but that is still only 50% of the time and the other 50% you get meh damage right?

Even base damage is pretty high. Only thing that might resist base damage from Laetum is Steel Path enemies. With the 2000% it's one of the best weapons in the game in terms of DPS. RNG DPS but it'll clean regardless.

Did you just not check the stats? It's solid regular damage with a 20x modifier on 45% of the shots - unless you shell out on a riven that removes that 10% crit chance.

what are you people even talking about
look at an enemy with your laetum and they'll disappear... even with a crappy build it will delete steel path enemies

well yeah but that is besides the point, my reasoning is if you have crit you do good damage, then when you dont crit, it still has a 50% chance of doing 2000% damage, so why would you want negative crit?

Your reasoning is weird and makes little sense. You're not getting anywhere close to x20 crit damage modifier so it's best if you never crit at all - not to mention that frees up all the space crit mods would've taken up for literally anything else.

Think of it this way-
You free up at least two crit mods (chance and damage) so you can put on two pure damage mods and get two elements, like viral and heat which is super strong.
Add that to 50% chance for each shot of the 216 round incarnon form doing 20x damage. With basically a machine gun that does AoE radiation damage.

Hallways of enemies, bosses, exanimus, etc just melt.
The crit chance is meaningless in that sense. Less crits equals more raw damage. If it was a 50% chance to do 2000% damage on any hit it would just be completely broken.

if you do the math not critting at all has more DPS than sometimes critting
