Duviri incarnon question
I can see all the info on the weapons themselves and what weapon varients are converted into the Incarnon, but my question is this:
does it matter what base weapon i'm evolving? should it be the base/low tier (MK-1 furis for example) or does having a stronger base matter? (eg. furis wrath / primes)
i'd love to know

The real question is - What do you want to Incarnon FIRST.
Lower tier weapon has a higher multiplier.
Higher tier weapon has a lower multiplier.
IE. (Non accurate number)
Furis will have a +10 damage
Mk-1 Furis will have a +15 damage

This fine crunch of numbers matters little, unless you're absolutely balls deep in the min-max game. Just pick what you want to play with first, and if you really want to explore other variation of the same weapon, grab it on the next Incarnon rotation.

You want to put it on better weapon variants. Incarnon mode isn't permanent. And I'm almost sure it draws from original weapon stats.
It does matter as base damage and crit chance, dmg multipliers tend to be higher in prime/wraith/vandal variants but also you should know that different variants get different bonus from evolution as some are straight better than others (normal Lato get +40 dmg, Lex Prime get +2 dmg increase )
The author of this thread has indicated that this post answers the original topic.

The lower tier versions will have higher bonuses from the adapters, but I am not aware of any weapon where this makes it better than the higher tier versions. If there is both a prime and some other variant, there might be a difference between the two depending on if you want to go crit vs status, but in general, upgrade the highest tier 1st.

Or embrace the memes and only upgrade the mk-1 versions. It is silly watching mk-1 weapons delete steel path acolytes, but they are objectively weaker than just upgrading the better base weapons

I put an incarnon on a mk1 Barton because I've gone completely insane

We like to call that eccentric! :)

To be fair, I got so used to my regular Oberon by the time there was a prime version, I maxed the Prime and mostly just kept using the regular; making them have slightly different focuses in usage and mods. The mk1 braton might have usage like with a riven or for not making new players anxious which sometimes happens when you use more exotic gear when helping clear the early starchart.

Weaker variants get stronger buffs. You should still look at the stats and what Incarnon buffs you want, though. Example: the best choice for building the Latron with puncture status-related buffs will still be the Latron Prime

no I just use it because I am both insane and have atrophied dopamine receptors that activate when a funny is done

Nothing about the weapon format has changed since rivens came out. incarnon adapters didnt change this so don't make it more complicated for yourself.

Primes and other variants if you have no riven or base if you have a riven.

Forgot to add that some variants do have a good dispo so if you don't have a riven it will benefit you in the long run when or if you get a riven for it.

Fair enough; I hope it continues to work out then!
