Bait is useless

I've triple checked every requirement for cuthol and I've used over 25 bait and havent seen a single one. is there some bug where they dont show up because 25 bait without a single sighting is fking unreal.

Have you checked these conditions ?
1. Must be night time
2. Must be at the pond (Not the lake or shore)
3. Must be at hotspot (see bubbles)
4. Must use cuthol baits

Not every small body of water is a pond. Use the interactive map here https://warframe.fandom.com/wiki/Plains_of_Eidolon to find them. As far i can tell there are only 3 ponds in the plains.

Yeah I checked out videos to find out where they are and Iv farmed 2 of the spots for hours. I even catch the common fish so itl spawn more fish.

Possibly DE bugged the game again, last time I did fishing it was fine.
But that was long time ago.
Try asking if anyone else having the problem.

im assuming youre in a valid location at the right time. sometimes the fishing spots forget to spawn other stuff, you can reset them by going a long distance away and triggering a different type of fishing spot to spawn fish (if youre looking for something in a pond go trigger a lake, river or ocean spot) then return to the spot you were initially fishing in. im pretty sure theres an entity cap for fishing so clear out some of the common fish too.

i usually run into this issue looking for rare servofish in venus caves, its annoying for sure

I just went and tried, as its night now. And 1 bait gave me 5 Cuthols. Not much, but its not bugged.

if the fish doesn't spawn properly, unequip the fishing spear, maybe walk away a few meters from the water, and equip it again. It resets the spawning process.

do you check there are ripple effect on the surface of the water? I find it easier to spawn the fish whenever there is a ripple effect. The most easiest that you can just equip oxylus with the fishing mods which allow you to see fishing hotspot.
