72 hours to craft a frame? why?
I'm not entirely sure why I would have to wait 3 days to craft something when it took me hours/weeks to grind for the items to get the frame in the first place. what is this gating? I have years of content ahead of me and waiting for a frame to build doesn't seem right to me.

guild wars 2 did it better. grind for weeks/months and throw it into a hole. you get your shiny new toy.

This isn't guild wars 2.

You are very limited with empty warframe and weapon slots in the beginning of the game. Before you know it you have at least +10 weapons and +5 warframes waiting to be claimed. My every warframe buddy and real life friends got to that point in one or two weeks. They reached that point in weeks because they all got rather addicted in the beginning.

I'm not sure I would be satisfied to try farm one character for months. This is not Guild Wars and players would get burned out really fast if they couldn't get stuff in hours or 1-2 weeks.

ok. I proposed the question to a streamer. 50 plat is easy to get, so in other words its a sink. to me that is a far better argument of why something like that is their then to time gate stuff when their is already years of content.

you would be surprised how long people would play for a cosmetic item. then again, the past few years, people figured out a way to speed run legendary items.

If you can do that, you can find something else to do (in or out of Warframe) for 3 days.

I can't really wrap my head around the idea of having the patience for a grind, but not for something you can then set and forget while you grind (or just play) something else.

I was recently introduced to this video from 2016:

The wait time is all about catching whales by having players pay for convenience.

If the game is similar to Diablo and Sacred series then I can understand that but imagine an RPG game where maximum level is 30, you can reach it in 30-120 minutes, all abilities are maxed when you reach 30 and what is left? Not much imo. I really don't see long grind being better versus short grind time plus waiting time for a weapon or warframe. Now that Foundry is building a new warframe I can farm other warframes and ♥♥♥♥ in the mean time. I can complete quests, explore the universe. After 3 days I should have two or three new warframes as well and some weapons.

Unlike many RPG games Warframe doesn't give you skill points that you can spend on your character and slowly see your character develope into a stronger hero with faster with gun handling or movement speed or insane damage resistance. I couldn't imagine myself playing many weeks or +1 month to have access to a new weapon or warframe. The game hasn't been designed that way.

How would you change it?

The only thing I wanted changed is the crafting time of warframes. since their was already a gate beforehand with the farming of materials. but since its also used as an economy sink. that reason alone is good enough to keep it.

Player retention and easy revenue via mobile game mechanics.
casdarius Feb 27, 2023 @ 8:04pm
because de absolutely has to have a plat sink/time wasting mechanic baked in.

Your Foundry will fill with stuff to craft all the time and always, even the oldest players will still build stuff and sometimes you will even have to much to get it all out atonce...

In case you don't know about the game, It's "Pay to skip the grind" model.
Also these timewalls also serve to prevent players from losing their sanity too soon.
