The "Rule of Cool"
So, I've been trying to get some of my friends to play this game with me, but they are proving difficult to be convinced to just try the game. They prefer games like the Division and what not. So, I am asking all my fellow Warframe lovelies to help me come up with ways I may be able to coax my buddies into playing. I am looking for descriptions of how the game personifies the "Rule of Cool", which I think this game has in spades. I need descriptions that can be explained to people who have no idea what Warframe is really all about.

So far, I've tried...

"I am a space ninja cowboy gunslinger fighting hordes of alien zombies on Mars with flaming, corrosive nunchucks."

I need help to save them from the darkness of bad combat systems, cookie cutter character design and lackluster progression systems!

Please, Tennobiwan... you're my only hope.

I like how I read this literally after I watched A New Hope.

Its free space themed 3ed person shooter thats constantly updated. There is no pay to win. with that added "space ninja cowboy gunslinger" If they cant be bothered to even try a free game in a genre they might like. Well, beyond hope. If they dont like 3ed person, or space future themes thats understandable.

"prefer games like the Division"

Well there is no accounting for taste.

Tell me about it. One of them is playing the Division right now. I mean, I don't hate the Division... but it really comes off extremely bland in comparison to what you can do in WF.

In general I hate games that have bullet sponge enemies, the Division has somehow made an entire game about it. Blergh.

If they weren't hooked as soon as you said "space ninjas," find new friends.

I'm thinkin about it lol
Seeing as the division is still pretty new i cant help but think these people prefer the latest off the shelf, correct me if im wrong but if that is the way they work they wont ever play wayframe for more then a few hours anyway before getting bored and wanting a new warm cookie fresh from the cutter

Warframe is grinding and farming simulator. Whole game is about getting everything you can have by spending hundreds of hours. There is nothing else to add about it. You either like it or not. I have tried suggesting my friends to play it and end result was them trying it out for few hours and dropping it or just avoiding to download it by making excuses. Don't bother convincing your friends to try it out if they like games from EA/Ubi since they won't enjoy what Warframe has to offer.

Uh, the division is a game that is all about the grind too but instead of resources or prime parts, you get... slightly differantly colored hats.

Tell them that if they believe in games as an art form, that requires creativity to thrive instead of becoming stale and bland in samey-mediocre copy and paste games, they should refund The Division and play Warframe. The reason why is simple, there are no other games in the world that play like Warframe, and no other developers have the guts to try because they know they cannot surpass it, or even come close to being competitors. Nothing beats that feeling of trying so hard to get hold of something and finally acquiring it, and Warframe offers that in almost every single mission.
Even if you're running a mission for something to do, you are always advancing, always making progress, everything you do earns you some sort of reward, whether it's credits, materials, mods or XP, and you will ALWAYS be discovering new things.
I've been playing Warframe for 1,122 hours according to Steam but even I don't know everything about it in all that time, only the other day I found out about the Whirlwind mod for glaives, yesterday I found out that hitting enemies with grenades did damage before they were even detonated, today I will likely find out something else I didn't know before, or possibly gain a mod I've never heard of, or maybe try out a weapon I've never given any attention before and find it to be my new favourite.
Such is the beauty of Warframe, it grows with you, and you grow with it.

Since they like Division say how the two games have some similat characteristics.

Division is all about building up a character. So is Warframe.

Division is all about getting new loot. So is Warframe.

Division is all about coop. So is Warframe.

Division lacks content. Warframe does not. Free updates so need need to spend cash on season passes.

Warframe is all about coop? I wish that would be 100% true. To some degree it is WHEN u start new with up to 3 friends - but after some time coop is less and less the case - u rather run missions along other players and try to rush ahead and clear the room ahead with 1 keypress before someone else can do that

Tell them you can play as cute ninja robot girls. One of them even has anime peg legs.
