How do I buy Platinum for a friend?
I got one of the 75% off rewards, which is set to expire soon. I'd like to buy platinum for one of the kids, but I don't know how to do this.

Help?

I don't think you can buy platinum as a gift, what you might be able to do is buy it then trade it to them? I don't really know.

When you try to trade it, the other player gets hit with a HUGE tax.

In that case, sorry.

Just buy stuff from the game and click on to send as a gift instead. That's the only other way/

So it runs me through the regular Steam purchase route? I can give Platinum as a gift to my kid?

Ugh. My discount has expired. Guess I'll have to wait to see if it works some other time.

No, it isn't a Steam purchase, unless you're buying one of those packs that are counted as "DLC", which is extremely unadvisable. You buy platinum directly from the Warframe website. It's recommended to get a discount, which are at random from the login rewards, before buying.

As people said, there is a credits tax on trading absolutely anything, and in platinum's case it's 500 credits per plat. What you could do is send your kid stuff from the Market as a gift. This works if it's any cosmetic, Warframe, or weapons ( which is also unadvisable, buying weapons and Warframes with platinum ), or you can farm some credits, find a random person on the Recruiting chat to host their dojo for you, and trade platinum with each other there.

Just ask what the kids would like in game, and send them those as gifts instead.

Zero wasted platinum.

Actually, if playing from Steam, buying platinum from the in-game overlay will take from your Steam wallet balance. So, yeah, it can be a Steam purchase under that condition.
