I use a sniper rifle with Ivara, do I need to use a bow or no?
I hate bows, I'm bad with them, so I use a Vulkar which I love deeply. Such a good weapon. But Ivara is supposed to be a Robin Hood-Huntsman type.....but I hate bows.....but......but....

(Vulkar build, 1 Forma. I just love it. It's so versatile. And I somehow am better at using a sniper rifle than a assualt rifle, or even a shotgun. Maybe sniping in this game is EZ. Idk.)

Nope. In fact, a bow is probably sort of redundant on Ivara most of the time, since her 4 IS a bow that'll scale off of rifle/sniper/bow mods just fine.

I'd say silencing the weapon would make it play nicely with her Prowl ability, but it looks like you have it silenced already anyhow. So there you go.

Yeah, my friend keeps saying I don't need to silence it, but I disagree.

You probably don't really NEED to silence it, but at the same time, the weapon will probably work just fine for almost any non-infinite mission even with the slot/capacity being used on it.

Though certainly for defense/intercept/excavate/etc, the mod would mostly be dead weight aside from not hitching up prowl's stealth. It also might not really do much in a group, since most people will NOT be using silenced weapons and probably aren't going to want to stand around waiting for the silent dispatches.

Another thing is her 2nd ability, which doesn't work on bullets, however it has proven useful when trying to place a dash wire through/around a frost snow globe and such.

I honestly use Prowl as more of a escape ability, but I do pickpocket and sneak once and a while

Personally, while I try and main Iva with a bow, I will always have ONE weapon I can guide, whether it be Kestrel, Azima, or of course, bow.

I use the Sancti Castanas as my secondary (projectile)

I use amprex with Ivara
Basically, Artemis bow is great at mid-long range, but feels like a waste at close range for me, while amprex rapes everything at close range

well, if you're using a huntress, it would make sense to stick to the huntress theme and use a bow
not required though, but if you're a stickler for that sort of stuff...

Strange... I thought she got a bonus to bow damage, but I don't see any info on it in the wiki.

Oh, fun info about enemy radar (especially if you also have Animal Instinct or something on, since the enemy detect ranges stack). The state of the red arrows on the minimap indicates the alarm levels of the enemies. Empty red arrows are unalerted enemies that will give stealth kill bonuses, red arrows with another one inside of them are suspicious enemies that don't know you're there (killing them drops stealth kill combos), and full red arrow enemies are in full alert.

Stage 2 enemies will usually happen from killing a guy right next to another guy. They'll actually go back to unalerted if you wait a bit. It's fine that guy probably had a heart attack.

The fun/exploitable part of stealth killing with Ivara is that sleeping enemies, as you might expect, don't notice guys right next to them dropping dead. So Ivara is nicely capable of stealth killing enemy clusters by using a sleep arrow to tag the whole group. Tons of affinity potential.
