Nikana vs. Atterax

(Boy, I am asking a LOT of questions lately.)

So, I somehow got a ton of argon crystals out of nowhere. Neat. I have the Nikana blueprint, and I have the Atterax blueprint. Which should I make? My current melee weapons are Boltace and Dex Dakra. My playstyle is fast spin/slide attacks (which makes boltace my #1 choice so far) do either of the two said melee weapons I could build outrank dakra and boltace in that playstyle? Or am I just overthinking and just choose whichever looks cooler?

I find the nikana to be slow and awkward, I'm not a fan of it. I like fast weapons like the dual zoren, Orthos P, and tipedo.

I'm not sure about the other weapon.

And I also have the choice of making Sybaris. So if Nikana is better than Atterax, should I build nikana or sybaris?

The only reason I'm asking about atterax is because someone mentioned it's high crit, so i thought i'd give it a shot.

Atterax's high crit chance makes it an excellent tool when combined with a maxed Berserker.

I run a build with various damage enhancing mods + Berserker, Fury, and Reach that works wonders on most things I run across. My playstyle is similar to yours with a lot of spinning and running around.

The fury + Berserker makes the normally slow Atterax insanely fast. Reach works wonders on it as well, since it's range is already pretty impressive. A single spin attack can clear out a low level room.

Ooh, cool. Convincing enough, i'll go with the slaughter whip. If i don't like it, i hive like 50 plat i can spend on another forma.

By the way it isn't slow at all, it's called stances.

Remember that the Nikana isn't so much of a weapon of its own as it is a stepping stone for the Dragon Nikana,

While outclassed by the Nikana Prime these days, the Dragon Nikana is still a very formiddable weapon that you should give a try. (Unless you're determined to grab a Nikana P in the near future, that is)

Both are good and both can achieve ridiculous damage, but nikana can never have atterax's range, even nikana prime feels just meh compared to atterax
Basically if you get dragon or prime nikana later, those can get higher single/small group damage, while atterax can mow down 20-30 enemies in a couple hits, and mostly that seems to be more effective

Atterax is THE weapon for infested and well, pretty much anything else too if you have a couple of corrosive projections in your team.

Highest crit multiplier and 2nd highest crit chance means average damage with the Atterax is just insane. Especially with Body Count and Blood Rush. For e.g 10million damage red crits sound fun? From 100 base damage? Haaave an Atterax.

Also Maiming Strike is perfect for Atterax. Lastly, Prime Reach. With that mod maxed out you can slide attack allll day long, kill everything in 360 around you and within 10-15m radius. It really is a truly outstanding weapon. The most fun I ever have in this game is with Atterax and infested :) Oh yeah, use Burning Wasp too, the damage multipliers on the pause combo are huge and guaranteed slash procs are really useful.
