Dread Build
I have two dread builds that i've created via warframe-builder.

The first one has Split Chamber, Serration, Speed Trigger, Point Strike, Heavy Caliber, Hammer Shot, Crit Delay and Vital Sense

The second one is only different in that Crit Delay is Sawtooth Clip.

The biggest thing is that the first build has 149% crit rate (49% red crit rate) versus the second build which has a 125% crit rate (25% red crit rate).

I'm open to suggestions. Feel free to use my build if you want.

Dread simply doesn't have palce for elemental combos
You're doing it wrong then.
I build full crit ever since acolite mods came out, becouse it dumps any elemental combos into the ground on bows. So I have only 1 free slot. The only thing I can left out is Speed Trigger. Have you seen how "amazing" Dread is without Speed Trigger?

In my experience both methods work but you need fanged fusilade and not the crappy sawtooth clip mod which isnt worth putting on. For elemental build I have made a status proc build for dread once which is very good but its not good for varied enemy types like the ones in the void.
You'll not do ♥♥♥♥ to high-level armored enemies with only physical damage.
Also this isn't "crit vs proc". It's pure physical vs appropriate elemental combo.
The combo wins.

an elemental almost doubles the total damage output
neither argon scope or bladed rounds can do that, so yeah, you are doing something wrong

thats why I have crit vital sense and hammer shot on it and it has a good deal of stat so that if it doesnt kill the enemy in one hit the bleedout will. Again both work

EDIT: I know specialised builds always win but I make my weapons for general purpose. I guess I was interpreting it wrongly

Elemental is general pupose tho?
Corrosive for void, infested and grineer, poison for corpus. The usual dance.
Physical damage types are more specialized.

I just tried out ur corrosive damage on the dread and I compared that to the damage output on my build. I stand by that they both work well I am not sure if you had malignant force on and/or voltaic strike which I didnt try but the results are farely even from what I can tell. Even against armored targets where the slash damage would be less effective it still performed just as good as the corrosive build because the bleedout that follows as I said deals damage further so that the damage per hit is roughly the same.

Ok, correct me if I'm wrong then.

Bladed rounds up Dread's crit multiplier with 2.2. That's 12.2 damage multiplier on red crits paired with Vital sense, vs 7.8 with sense only. That's 48.8 vs 31.2 multiplier on headshots.

Argon Scope adds 67% crit chance, making Dread perform red crits with 92% if you have Point strike installed, vs 25% of Point strike only.

Base damage in first case and with fanged fusillade is ~2093
With 2 elementals it's ~2818.

Let's remove Bladed rounds. We still red crit almost all the time, but first build deals 102138,4 raw headshot damage, while second - only 87921,6.

Let's remove Argon scope. Now it's 102138,4 vs 137518,4 - much more impressive. But second build deals that damage only 25% of time, making 3 out of 4 shots regular crits, with only 74395,2 damage. First build performs red crits 92% of time...

If you want, add bleeds on top - those bypass armor and benefit from 120% bonus of Fanged fusillade. Those happen with 34,6%, which is decent enough to, well, happen from time to time.

You may factor in specific resistances, but since we have Paris Prime and Rakta Cernos, there is little reason to put Dread agains armor or shields.

So. Care to explain how 2 elementals beat THAT?

Hammer Shot, Crit Delay
Replace those with Argon scope and Bladed rounds. And replace Heavy caliber with Buzzkill. Those mods can be expencive ATM, but they turn Dread into monstrosity.

Edit: Dread simply doesn't have palce for elemental combos, and single elemental is outshined by Buzzkill. Not to mention it also buffs bleed damage
Increased slash damage doesn't increase bleed proc damage

Bleeds are calculated off total physical damage, AFAIK. That includes slash

Like Archwraith said, remove Heavy Cal... Bows are supposed and intended to be precise weapons, Hevay cal is not worth it, and I'm surgically attached to a bow.

Also use element mods. Corrosive alone is fine, you have 3 weapons afterall, but a full crit build won't get you far in a lot of end-game...

Actually I meant ONE elemental instead of bladed rounds
The point is that bladed rounds will give around 30% total damage increase? Not sure, but it sure as hell wont increase by 90%
