Snipetron (and Snipetron Vandal) also has a neat innate-puncture feature that allows you to shoot through multiple enemies at one time, and Lanka can become a crowd-buster when modded with crit/status in mind (with the addition of gas/electric damage, which affects an area).
Like everyone has said, it's down to personal playstyle and situation. That doesn't mean that it can't be a big part of Warframe (minus the zoom mods).
all in all, either the weapon class itself needs some change or we need more wide open maps where we could snipe heads off from 1km away (and THAT is what i like in sniper weapons all along). for now, i see neither of it happen and therefore all my sniper rifles are taking dust except for those arkward sorties that forces me to compromize...
Yes I do because they are not usually good choise. One sniper in the squad isn't bad thing but Nullifier for example are big issue for snipers. Why are you getting so angry that you call me "Simulor person"? Why pick sniper when you can choose a machine gun that has great and can clear whole room in seconds?
Give me ideas, suggestion or counter arguements why snipers are one of the greatest thing in this game instead of trying to insult me. You would look less like brain cells lacking Warframe player. Crush me with suggestions that I gave you because you are not convicing at all.
Problem is that snipers are not fun to use. Zooming gives nice damage bonus but not great addition in tight areas and there are very few giant rooms and because of objective you can rarely spend time in those areas. Why the hell snipers have to have 3 second reload time as well? Would they seriously be too powerful then? In other videogames like CoD, battlefield and even Deus Ex: HR have fast reload speed.
Warframe players in Official forums are able to explain issues better and more beautiful English than I can.

". Every weapon type should have god tier weapons so that people can play what kind of weapon they want. Shotguns, Rifles and Bows have multiple god tier weapons, Launchers have one. Snipers have 0. But snipers aren't because most of them are single target weapons in a game where you fight hordes of enemies. Let's see which ones can be used for the hordes. Lanka and Snipetron Vandal, unless you sacrifice a mod slot on the others. Lanka is a very good weapon with qol issues, but you know that already. Snipetron Vandal is a decent gun with with innate punchthrough that used to be very good because of it's combo counter but then went on to become mediocre because DE stealth nerfed it. Very high damage but slow reload, small clips, low rate of fire and single target.
More than half the tilesets of the game do not give you much opportunity to use sniper rifles, especially when you're being swarmed by 30+ enemies in Grineer mine tunnels or Corpus station hallways.
Snipers excel at big open areas, which there are not many of.
I only find Snipers useful for Defense and Interception missions, due to their map layouts. For other missions where you are constantly running and staying on the move in corridors, any other weapon type is simply a more practical choice; especially now that hip firing with a sniper rile is a no-no.
Bring a good secondary? Might as well not equip a primary at all then since a sniper rifle will get little use in a map / mission type not suited for it. All other primaries in every other non-sniper category will get the job done much efficiently in enclosed maps.
I have had an idea for some time now for a new mission type that could be added to the game that excels at using sniper/bow and a lot less effective for other weapon types. I might put it in the WF forums one of these days.
