Brozime made a video where he shows that a formaless Akstiletto P outdamaged a well-built Lex Prime against a Bombard or a Heavy Gunner or something, and he's a Lex user himself and the build he used on Akstiletto was pretty terrible, might wanna see that if you are curious

For under lvl100 content: Sonicor and Atomos. In the first sortie both are still excellent, in the second they do just fine, in the third their dmg just isn't very great. Outside of sorties they're both extremely good and allow you to kill huge piles of mobs fast and with little to no aiming. I personally prefer Sonicor over Atomos because Atomos requires you to aim at one target, Sonicor doesn't require you to aim at all. Just shoot in the direction where the enemies are and you're pretty much guaranteed to hit. Sonicor also has CC which makes it a lot more useful in sorties and whenever you just want to clear a path instead of killing enemies.

i've seen it, but i want a more personal grip with the weapons, which is why i am currently trying to get them

there is no best weapon that is the strongest than all other. each and every weapon has it own good and bad. stick to the weapon that suits you best.

Lex Prime then Vaykor Merlock about pistols, about others secondaries it really depends, there are many differences, try out Atomos and Sonicor, those are great as fun to play.
