Nova just doubles your damage, can nuke enemies in certain range with ungodly Antimatter Drop (which can deal, again, quadrillion damage if charged properly) and can create portals which nobody uses. She is squishy, but not as squishy as Banshee.
I'd say, Nova is much easier to play than Banshee (unless you're going the route of stationary ground-thumper), has easier to utilize CC, but doesn't buff your group to such disproportionate jacked up powerhouses as Banshee. A bit more balanced than Banshee, who's effectively a straight up glass cannon.
Nova: Armed and Ready! -Junkrat
Valkyr: Roadhog time
Ivara: Ryuuga waga teki yo kurau!
