Report a translation problem
Best done in a group, since it will increase the number of available cats to scan. You also don't want to wait too long at the start of the map, the mobs will already be in combat.
Capture has the advantage that once you snag the objective you can leave as soon as you've explored everything.
Exterminate has the advantage in that in exploring everything you'll have to kill and so having an enemy limit is a good indication of how much you've got left to explore.
I prefere Exterminates when farming.
If they're asleep you should be able to run right up into the horde. and scan them from up close.
Still after getting 20 of them total. I just bought the rest in order to get Smeeta. I had to scan over 200 of those pesky little cats.
