Is the only difference to standard version the % you can rank them up to?. Current ones at Baro worth it?

You can compare them yourself to see how much higher a bonus a Primed mod may give over its standard counterpart. Yes, typically it's just a higher bonus, and all Primed mods go up to rank 10, sometimes scaling differently in their bonus per rank.
There are, is an exception with Primed Regen, as it offers not only 1 revive for the Sentinel, but up to 3. And of course, the Umbral and Sacrificial mods, which are considered the same rarity as Primed mods, Legendary, and are considered variants of their standard versions.

As for this week's Primed mods:
Pack Leader offers 36% Lifesteal-Link, Primed offers 66%.
Slip Magazine offers 30% Magazine Capacity, Primed goes to 55%.
Pistol Gambit 120%, Primed PG 187%.
Target Cracker 60%, Primed TC 110%.
Regular Ammo Mutation mods convert Pistol/Rifle ammo boxes into 8 rounds, and Sniper/Shotgun into 15 rounds. Primed mods convert Pistol/Rifle into 14 rounds and Sniper/Shotgun into 28 rounds.

They are essentially higher rank versions of the mod, costs a crud ton of endo and money though, the main benefit is that your gear earns stronger stats without recurring to corputed mods, it has high capacity compsution so is a good idea to apply some forma, it's up to you if you want to use those in your builds.

Some of them are less efficient per rank than their non-prime counterparts, with the benefit that you can rank them up higher than usual like all primed mods

Primed Pistol Gambit and Target Cracker are great everyday mods. The rest at Baro this week are situational - you'll know if you need them, but you probably don't.

If you can afford them it's a good idea to get them and leave them unranked/unused.

You never know when Baro will stock again, and sometimes a mod will come into favour and sell for good plat.

I was happy to see the pet lifesteal prime one.. that is new, very nice.

I guess if you don't use pets and melee you wouldn't care though.

Might be worth picking up to sell... since it is the first time out I am sure there will be people who want it that missed baro this time.

I actually missed there are pistol crit mods currently, but appreciate the sheer toxicity on your part.

depends really, if your pets have no health mods and your melee is at 3.0 combo then you can R0 the standard one..

With melee combo changes it depends how will it go, but melee is not what you only do and you use it just to heal pets for example the this mod make sense.

Khora is a good example, since in order to have a good Khora Whipclaw you need to sacrifice your melee build, no Blood rush, no condition Overload, no range. So for her it actually helps, did the forma already and since I rarely use melee, with low combo damage is not as high. Not to mention that with lack of range it is not as convinient to hit 10 enemies as is with Atterax.
