Tip 0: Don't do Tridolon. Just focus on hunting Teralyst or Gantolyst for now. Doing tridolons if you have no experience is a bad idea, you should ensure you have at least a decent set of equipment before doing Tridolons - not only so you can make a decent contribution to the team, but also so you can even find a team in the first place.

1. A Good amp. 177 or 777 are the best, but in the meantime you can make do with something just a bit weaker - anything but the Mote Amp for starters.

Those numbers refer to the parts used to build an amp - Prism / Scaffold / Brace, and their series.

177 = Series 1 Prism / Series 7 Scaffold / Series 7 Brace = Raplak Prism / Propa Scaffold / Certus Brace

777 = Klamora Prism / Propa Scaffold / Certus Brace

-- Note: Series 7 Amp parts however require some heavy investment to obtain through ranking up Vox Solaris, so I'd settle for something less demanding - start with the amps available from Quill.

123 is a good first amp - Raplak / Shraksun / Lohrin

---------------

2. Some decent Focus investment. Admittedly, most of your focus farming will actually be done FROM Eidolon hunting, but it's always worth having some investments before Tridolon. As above, start with Tera and Ganto.

You can also farm standing from ESO or Zariman with relative ease. At least unlock Madurai and obtain at least one rank in Void Strike. This is by far the most important ability in Tridolons, above all other complementary abillities or passives.

---------------

3. Ask for someone to explain things to you as you go through Eidolon Hunts. You'll be able to find people in recruiting if you say you're a beginner looking for a decent tutor. Preferably a little before night starts before everyone starts grouping up.

---------------

4. Have a little know how.

DE seem to have ruined a few of the tricks to Eidolon Hunting over several updates, such as forcing spawns of Vomvalysts to quickly charge Lures. The off-set of that is to bring Itzal and use the 3rd Ability to try and catch nearby vomvalysts to charge lures faster.

Know how to charge lures (kill Vomvalysts nearby, or kill them and pick up their charges to take back to the lure). Know where lures spawn - fly around at night for a bit looking at spawns. You need 8 lures in total for a full Tridolon, but you only want one at first to charge and lock the Teralyst down - know when to grab the rest (if that's your role).

Learn the spawn points of Ganto and Hydrolyst - you can break their shields and limb before they fully emerge from the lake if you learn where their hitboxes are depending on the spawn.

Never shoot the limb of an Eidolon that is not tethered by a charged lure. It will teleport away (and you don't want that in 99% of scenarios).

----------------

5. Know your role.

You will want to have a Volt or Trinity available at least, but if not that then possibly a Harrow (albeit he's pretty redundant) or some other frame that can offer something to the group. Volt and Trinity are the safest bets, and above all Volt is just the obvious go-to.

Designate who will be breaking shields in what order, and who will be breaking limbs (so people don't all use their Void Strike at the same time). Designate who will be picking up the other lures (if there's 3 or 4 players - this doesn't matter if it's just 2 people because there's no choice to be made).

Know where and when to use abilities. For Volt as an example, you want to place shields in good positions to maximise damage against the eidolon, and stack them for bonus damage. You will want to bring his augment "Shock Trooper" for additional damage (note that the Shock Trooper buff is lost on operator transferal). Likewise for Harrow or Trinity, or anyone else, you want to learn when to use abilities and what builds to bring on the hunt.

----------------

6. Bring the right gear.

Weapons. You want Radiation damage, typically snipers are used but they aren't the be all and end all - Warframe provides plenty of options; however, snipers perform reliably. Particularly Rubico Prime - however, it is not necessity. Any hard-hitting weapon that can crit reliably (Volt's shield boosts Crit Damage) and doesn't have awful DPS / reload etc. is good (and is accurate enough to hit limbs). That said, you don't have to be a limb shooter.

More importantly is other gear. You need an Archwing Launcher to keep up in Tridolons, otherwise you will be seriously slowing your team down.

You should bring excessive amounts of Energy Pads for yourself.

If you have it, you want the Arcane Nullifier arcane equipped (unless there is an ally with a Warframe that negates Status, or unless you don't mind spending A LOT of Energy Pads to restore energy).

-------------

That should be enough. There's a lot more to go over for mastering Tridolon, and Eidolons in general - but the above advice is plenty to get you into Tridolons, and also to serve you well enough. Taking time to explain things in detail is pointless, because most of your value in Eidolon hunting comes through experience and just learning how to play it habitually.
Major Tip
Only try Edilon hunts if you have progressed through the star chart and storyline to unlock your Operator and gotten your first Amp.

second tip the Edilons throw out MASSIVE AOE with huge spread and heavy damage- but can only be hurt by shooting them in specefic spots.
