Warframe 2 is not going to happen because WF is a game-as-service, it's much easier to keep updating the game they already have than to make a whole new one
Not expecting to be anything Soulframe significant, probably just special branding for something
But seriously they'll probably just show a trailer for tennocon
Maybe a crossplay trailer too
That's if WF2 ever comes out, plans to be made, or if it even capitalizes on what WF has. If WF2 starts fresh and clean I definitely see it flopping.
I imagine we'll see graphical enhancements to some more parts of the game similar to what happened to bring the new(er) Orbiter, Gas City, and Corpus ships in. They're working on new ways of handling lighting and audio right now. PoE and other open worlds are getting LoD and lighting improvements as of June 9th.
UE5 is fine for a game that plans to use it, incredible even. But there's a lot of benefits to having your own proprietary engine that you know your way around and can tune to perfectly fit your team's workflow. And DE certainly takes advantage. Not that I know their whole workflow, I just know us as players have good performance with good graphics without suffering an incredible amount of downtime between major updates. With obvious exceptions like the New War and Duviri but it's hardly fair to hold that against them when there was an epidemic.
Things can always be made to look better sure but there's a limit. For example you could touch games up quite a bit in UE4 but no matter how much you tried you couldn't make it compete with UE5.
That's debatable. Take Payday 2 for example: their engine is ass. Everyone knows it. WF's Evolution engine isn't bad. Btw Tencent owns DE, and by extent Warframe, and Tencent also has ownership in Epic which owns UE. So that wouldn't be such a far fetched idea for DE to use UE5 if WF2 ever did get brought into development.
Also, sports games must be some of the worst when it comes to literally selling the same game every year. No thank you to that
