Digital Extremes will be at summer game fest 2022.
Any predictions ?

Maybe they will announce a new game in the Warframe universe, probably named Soulframe as they registered the trademark not long ago.
What about another new big expansion for Warframe ? Warframe 2 ?
My guess is that they will tease a new game and will show us more at TennoCon 2022. :LotusFlower:

They'll probably just talk about upcoming major update stuff (Duviri)

Warframe 2 is not going to happen because WF is a game-as-service, it's much easier to keep updating the game they already have than to make a whole new one

Not expecting to be anything Soulframe significant, probably just special branding for something

Why would they create Warframe 2? What would they gain from this and what would consumer gain from this?
Lunaro Pro League for mobile. It'll be twenty bucks up front with no further monetization, for lulz.

Maybe to do it in Unreal Engine 5? The game definitely has some aged things about it. Though with how WF is I don't think it would be well received for a WF2 even if it was made in UE5 because of all the progress lost between the two. Unless they made 1:1 copy of WF to WF2. If done in UE5 though they'd have to re-do all assets from the ground up then make it so everyone's progress gets copied over to WF2. Sounds like way too much effort for DE.

That's if WF2 ever comes out, plans to be made, or if it even capitalizes on what WF has. If WF2 starts fresh and clean I definitely see it flopping.

You say this as if no other Games-As-a-Service has had sequels... all sports games, COD, BattleField, etc.. are all Games-As-a-Service
The difference is that Warframe is successful, so they kept on making more of it.

I don't know what reason they'd have for switching to UE5. Their in-house engine does perfectly fine (Evolution). The aged stuff is more or less legacy. An engine switch does not guarantee a game to look better as it can't add detail that didn't exist before.

I imagine we'll see graphical enhancements to some more parts of the game similar to what happened to bring the new(er) Orbiter, Gas City, and Corpus ships in. They're working on new ways of handling lighting and audio right now. PoE and other open worlds are getting LoD and lighting improvements as of June 9th.

UE5 is fine for a game that plans to use it, incredible even. But there's a lot of benefits to having your own proprietary engine that you know your way around and can tune to perfectly fit your team's workflow. And DE certainly takes advantage. Not that I know their whole workflow, I just know us as players have good performance with good graphics without suffering an incredible amount of downtime between major updates. With obvious exceptions like the New War and Duviri but it's hardly fair to hold that against them when there was an epidemic.

If we compared what Evolution and UE5 can do side by side I'm sure UE5 would dominate in all fields.

Things can always be made to look better sure but there's a limit. For example you could touch games up quite a bit in UE4 but no matter how much you tried you couldn't make it compete with UE5.

That's debatable. Take Payday 2 for example: their engine is ass. Everyone knows it. WF's Evolution engine isn't bad. Btw Tencent owns DE, and by extent Warframe, and Tencent also has ownership in Epic which owns UE. So that wouldn't be such a far fetched idea for DE to use UE5 if WF2 ever did get brought into development.

None of those games have the same kind or amount of content as Warframe, and WF has been supported for many years already.

Also, sports games must be some of the worst when it comes to literally selling the same game every year. No thank you to that

they will clearly showcase the long awaited Lunaro 2
