Well the halloween event should be up (or coming up I haven't checked), so I recommend getting Basmu from it. Fire in short bursts, aim to the heads and only empty the entire magazine if you need to use the slow health drain reload to heal. It has been my main gun for any steel path missions.

My go to secondary is quatz with a high critical build for 1-2 head shotting anything with the burst fire mode, but that build relies heavily on the galvanized mods and the secondary headshot arcane. I've got no idea how viable pistol it is if you don't have those yet.

What is 'high level' for you? Like level 60 lich enemies? Or level 110+ steel path enemies? Because the level 60 stuff the answer is 'basically everything' so long as it's modded well. If you mean steel path, then you're looking more at incarnum weapons, tenet/kuva weapons, etc. You're also looking at farming primary/secondary arcanes and arbitrations for the sweet stuff to put on them.

Tenet arca plasmor (toxin base), tenet cycron (magnetic base), tenet executor (mag base)

Crit plasmor as a general purpose low-effort weapon (Aoe damage + ricochet), status cycron vs shields and low-level trash (chain up to 2 additional targets), status Executor vs targets which cannot be vaporized by the primary and secondary (good vs everything due to the stacking speed and damage from mods). Also executor somehow end up with orange crits after 3-4 strikes.

Look for builds on overframe.gg

(to get tenet weapons use Acceltra, whatever secondary, Galatine Prime)

If you're far enough to play Kahl missions... the Aegrit could have potential if you like it enough to invest into. Meanwhile I thought the Afentis was pretty horrible. Slaytra is nothing special, just another stick.

Zariman weapons are generally pretty good. Laetum and Phenmor are both fantastic. Felarx is a bit on the mid end but has some good perks. Praedos is an okay melee, but really stands out for perks like extra bullet-jump distance. Innodem didn't impress me at all.

Since the halloween update is here, get the weapons while you can. You should also get the Zaw strikes (Plague Keewar, Plague Kripath), maybe extra copies, but you can ignore the grips. If you want more mileage out of zaws, the plague star arcanes are also for sale...

._.

The most important thing you want to focus on for getting 'good' weapons is actually the mods and arcanes to support them. Primary and Secondary Deadhead/Merciless are invaluable when it comes to making your weapons much stronger. Then there are the Galvanised Mods obtained from doing Arbitrations, as well as your Primed mods and the usual stuffs you would stick on your guns to make 'em stronger.

These will let you turn even terrible weapons into very decent weapons, good enough for all Star Chart content and much of Steel Path.

That said, an 'actual' list of very good weapons:

Primary:
- Battacor (Burst Rifle, innate Magnetic. Powerful alt-fire. Very high crit, okay status)
- Cedo (Shotgun, innate Condition Overload for the gun itself, combines very well with Galvanised mods, alt-fire shoots a bouncing disk that forces many statuses)
- Felarx (Incarnon Shotgun from Zariman - very powerful. Just... very powerful)
- Glaxion Vandal (AoE laser, innate cold, very good Status)
- Ignis Wraith (Still Ignis, still very powerful)
- Phenmor (Incarnon semi-auto / auto - form change makes it a rapid-fire auto. Very strong)
- Phantasma Prime (Phantasma, but now even deadlier. Excellent gun)
- Tiberon Prime (versatile, still very strong)
- Tenet Arca Plasmor (Arca but stronger)
- Astilla Prime (AoE Shotgun, very strong)

Secondary:
- Kuva Nukor (Big AoE status king with excellent damage)
- Tenet Cycron (Basically the same, but with innate Heat and more reliable but less powerful crit)
- Knell Prime (shoot the head, it becomes one of the best weapons in the game. Miss the head, it sucks)
- Laetum (Incarnon pistol / AoE rapid-fire - strongest weapon in the game atm)
- Pandero Prime (revolver, good stats, that's all)
- Sporelacer (Deimos kitgun pistol - AoE, lots of damage, very strong)
- Aegrit (Thrown explosives, low ammo but hits like a truck)

There are many others that more than pull their weight in a fight, and I deliberately neglected mentioning major AoE weapons because I'm sick of seeing them. The above are (some underrated) all extremely powerful weapons, and far better than some of the stuff I've seen listed in this thread.

It depends on how far you are into the game and what content you are currently doing. Different weapons work best for different missions and enemies.

Get to MR16 ASAP if you haven't already so you can unlock every mission type in the game and equip all weapons available. The primary objective for new and returning players is finishing the star chart, the quests, and getting to MR16.

Some things you unlock after completing the star chart include arbitrations, sorties, tenet/kuva weapons, new war, zariman.

Get yourself any zaw, kitgun, cedo, or phantasma which are super easy to get endgame weapons and you will be set.

My recommendation is to search on Youtube for Top 10 best primary/secondary/melee weapons in 2022 to see all the best weapons in action. Then, pick the ones you like and go for that. My advice:

Primary:
- Nataruk (MR5)
- Cedo (MR8)
- Phantasma (MR9)
- kuva zarr (MR15)
- kuva bramma (MR15)
- kuva ogris (MR15)
- tenet arca plasmor (MR16)

Secondary:
- Sporelacer (MR0)
- Epitaph (MR8)
- kuva nukor (MR13)
- Laetum (MR14)

Melee:
- Guandao prime (MR12)
- Nikana prime (MR12)
- Kronen prime (MR13)
- Gram prime (MR14)
- Praedos (MR14)

But most weapons and frames are good enough for endgame. You just need better mods and know how to build them.

The mods you need include galvanized mods (farm arbitrations), nightmare mods (farm nightmare missions), corrupted mods (farm orokin vault), and primed mods (farm void relics for ducats and buy from Baro Ki'Teer). This alone will keep you busy for a few months.

Tenet Arca Plasmor (60% Toxic). Crit+status, big bouncy projectile, toxic bypass the shield, if the weapon failed to kill the enemy, it will give them radiation proc and make the enemy fight among themselves.
easy to use, and has a decent ammo count.

idk the math, but TheKengineer (YouTube) said for Tenet Arca Plasmor you need to get the Toxic to get the most out of it. my build actually focuses on the crit and raw toxic to bypass the shield and damage their health.
But i guess fire still works. even normal arca plasmor is a monster.
