EDIT, I might say what the good stuff about his skills :
passive gives more crit, scaling on your total shield
1 pack enemies (kinda like nidus larva)
2 remove armor from stuff and heal you
3 taunt ennemies to aggro you, gives energy regen and shield to you ( I think ? ) and your friend
4 you throw javelin at an area for some time and you can move around, changing the targeting
1 throws his spear and if you impale an enemy to a wall with it will atract enemies around it and will explode.
2 summons some energy shield and throws them to the front damagind and repeling the enemies
3 buffes himself and his allies
4 JUSTICE RAINS FROM ABOVE!! (yeah begins to shot a barage of spears)

the coolest thing it has is using its ultimate.
Gathers enemies. Strips defences. Regens HP, Shields and Energy and can stack major Slash proccs.
1) buggy atm, but you can make a monster pile with some luck and the right conditions. This is mr replace-me-with-helminth skill.
2) a short range damage, knockback, armor strip, and self heal, awesome for a melee build or large crowd work like defense or survival etc.
3) unless you take bad mods that make it go negative, it provides you more energy than it takes and gives energy to your team too. I have 200ish str and I get about 6.5 per second energy for about 40 seconds. Very nice.
4) weird aimed aoe of sorts. For a short time you shoot bombs where you aim, so you can target clusters of enemy if you are really quick and have a good mental pic of the map below you and know where the enemy are. It hits pretty hard, but its clunky to use.
building, strength 200+ to get 100% armor removal and solid regen and hard hitting spear stuff. Duration gives 4 more shots and 3 a longer regen buff. Range is really important for 2, but even highly boosted its a relatively short radius.
I like him, but looking it over critically .... 1) is not generally usable to make piles of enemy; only certain scenarios have enough guys in close proximity to make it work great. 2) the range is just too short 3) is awesome but unnecessary in most gameplay as most maps have plenty of energy drops and 4) is interesting, a little more targeted aoe that can rock a tough enemy (keep target on one guy) or blow up a group (sorta, its just difficult to spread this thin). All in all... hes a great guy to have by your side, but I would rather not be the one inside him most of the time. Once the new wears off... fashion frame entry. I reserve the right to change my mind on that. If they doubled the range on 2) I might take him out frequently.
Login and try him out. Everyone gets him. He's free. He has a potato already.
Pick a high crit high crit damage weapon. Hit 3 get shields for survival, get crits for quicker kill time.
As it's also an aggro focus it can work with some of the shield mods and blocking, for example the Javlock augmented mod and increased combo while blocking.
The combo can be used with Gladiator set for even more crits, and it's 'on theme'.
suck up half a tile
remove armor from half a tile
give OS to half a tile
stab half a tile worth of enemies with phantom stabs
Most other frames you have to invest forma into them to make them viable.

100% defence (armour and sheild) strip that scales with npc level with his 2
good self heal with his 2
shield gating and energy regen with his 3 (also applies to teammates too!)
his 4 procs loads of bleed statuses - so good damage over time with is 4
I modded for range and strength. Then used arcane aegis and arcance grace too
The only gripe I have is not being able to wield a spear and shield as exalted weapon or even having a spear and shield weapon skin would have been good , was kinda expecting a spear and shield after how DE showed Stynax using a Spear and Shield like a Spartan chad but alas DE is DE and it is what it is.
