I just logged into my old account for the first time in like 2 years. It's basically a whole different game, and I have no idea what's going on. I have no idea if the frames I used, weapons, strategies, etc are still good.

I think I have to learn from the ground up. Plus, it would be fun to play the story and progress from 0 again, don't you guys think?

I say keep your gear and progression; if needed you may simply re-run the previous missions using broken mods or none at all while re-leveling your weapons and warframe. The difference is minimal but after reorienting you will still have your earned progress to return to.

You can re-do quests and the new-player experience isn't going to teach you much unless it's changed dramatically, you learn how to use weapons and that's about it.
Play in cetus open world and you'll re-learn stuff there without having to get to race to an objective.

Also the Q&A chat is helpful. There will be bored players who will be happy to help you there. Creating a new account just means you'll have stuff you grind for spread over 2 accounts.

well they fairly recently fixed the modding tutorial but besides that i dont think they did much for early game

personally i would have to ask
1. did you but anything with real money on your original account
2. what mastery rank is the original
3. how often will you be able to play?

1. if you spent money as long as it wasnt more then like 30 usd sure i guess why not
2. if your mastery rank was higher then 9 then no cause around 7-9 is when you need to start actually crafting weapons and that sucks early game since early game you need a chunk of neurodes which is hard early game
3. if you cant do more then 4 hours a week then leveling up all your gear and getting back to where you were will be a major pain and annoying after a while

personally i feel like early game was funner then late game, late game REALLY feels grindy, while early game the combat feels much nicer personally

Yeah i never understood redoing new account, i mean hours of progress just wasted like that.

Honestly there is 100% no reason to start a new account as it will not give you what you want. This is more true the more you have invested into your current account, it would just be a big waste.

You are able to replay most Quests (or you could look for videos online to see them) and can simply go back to old content and slowly get yourself used to the game.
Then work your way up that way with everything you have.

i had a new account and i did just this.
basically all it had was some dex weapons from twitch i believe.
and it made coming back way easier. because now i realize how broken my main account is :D

It took me a moment to figure out the UI again, but I found my stuff. I think my mastery level is 8 or nine, and I have like 5+ prime warframes. Rhino, Ash, Trinity, Oberon. Lots of really good mods too. I remember doing sorties and farming ancient artefacts. I also remember my friend who didn't play the game anymore gifted me like 1500 platinum. I spent it already though, lol, but can't tell what on.

Seems kind of dumb to throw all that away, so I'll probably stay on my main account. Even though I have no idea what I should be doing. That's one of the main reasons I wanted to make a new account. Jumping in and continuing where I left off will be very confusing and I literally have no idea where to begin, what to do, etc.

I do not recommend doing this. You will ease back into the flow of things on your existing account much faster than you might expect, and it's reasonable to assume that whatever equipment you already have - however dated it might be - is still better than restarting from nothing.

sure, yes, of course, that is a SHOCKING conclusion, but with plenty of communication with your Members, maybe it is better to keep your main account

I Would NEVER suggest ANYONE to start an account again on Warframe, that is preposterous. This game isn't some sort of AAA RPG game that requires that level of comprehension that you would be "missing" anything. The whole point of Warframe was to be a space ninja and have OP builds, and do what you like and be what you like. Now a days its trying to be Call of Battlefield Frame Duty with its stupid ammo barring and constant changes to things people like. We don't take Warframe half as serious as what you see the devs showcasing in their recent balance videos. Get out there try out some weapons, see what you like, do some acrobatics, build up some satisfying builds and enjoy yourself.

If you stop playing for 2 years. Probably, you will play for a while, and stop playing again for around the same reason! And, warframe is probably 2 times bigger than 2 years ago! Better, restart with old account, and see how you liked it. And also, nothing prevent you to replay all story missions that you have already done! But, the game still a farming games, only 2 times bigger in what you will have to do!

For myself, I like to play warframe, because I like farming games! Anyway, in today's games world, there are not many games that are not farming games!

Also, 1st thing. Join a clan if it is not already done! You will be able to buy many Blue print with ingame credits, also will help you a lot, if you want to build a good railjack as they sell BP parts too! Also buy all the Blue Print in ingame store that can be bought with credit.
