(railjack) what is the best pilot gun / side guns? (opinion)
excluding all the MK I/II/III

personally I only have a small amount to choose from but from what I can see:

Pilot: Photor

Side: Apoc

Ordnance: Galvarc

Glavarc is amazingly good for popping fighter swarms. I've been partial to Apoc for forward guns, and just fit whatever my crew wants for periphery guns before launching. Most seem to prefer Photor though I found the range and damage to be a bit too low for my taste.

Though nothing beats the Obelisk of Nod that is the forward artillery for cracking open crew ships. I just need who ever takes over as pilot in those few seconds when I dash down to the gunner pit to PLEASE STOP SPINNING THE SHIP AWAY FROM THE BLOODY TARGET. Like, come on guy...
The cryo-whatever ice cannon is a pretty solid forward gun too. That's what I've been using. You have to get the right firing rate down though, otherwise you'll overheat all the time.

Looking forward to trying the Galvarc myself, that thing sounds mean.

Also planning to test out the chem turrets on the sides. I've been hearing they're like slightly better Apocs.

Carcinnox. It get overheat quite fast, especially Zetki varian.

All Zetki variants share this trait, highest damage output but quickest rate of overheat.
Personally Pulsar and Carcinnox are my favourite.

Pulsar being all hit-scan and Carninnox having much faster projectiles than Apoc. Both make it really easy to hit targets, even from afar.
Whats this Galverc like? Yet to even see one, got Mk3 cryo though.
I don't like Zetki stuff and cryophons for the pilot guns because they seriously hamper my ability to shoot enemy rockets down. Sure, taking down fighters a bit faster is nice but not if it comes at the price of eating an entire crew ship missile volley because I don't have the means to shoot it down despite being able to clearly see it heading towards me.

So far did not find guns that are bad, Ztki overheat is bs but maybe with high gunner skills and avoinic for overheating it may be worth it.
Zetki Cryophon is the best gun you for main/side
if you want to actually kill stuff
but yea they overheat really fast and short range?

I've been leaning towards photor for the pilot and those cryo shotguns for gunners. I got a seeker volley mod installed, so I use a galvarc to change things up.

M favorite weapon is, of course, the forward artillery. I had one mission where the last crew ship bugged out just inside an asteroid. We could do chip damage with our turrets, but we couldn't get a killing blow or catapult aboard. So after the rest of the group bails, I point her right at the crew ship and hop into the artillery seat. Two shoops later, the crew ship is blown straight to woop. Mission compete.

Of course it's hard to use the arty when half the crew decides to go fly an archwing while me and the pilot stay behind and try to keep the ship together. I'll still do half the team's total damage just hopping on turrets to blast fighters and chopping up boarders, not to mention repairing and restocking the ship. I'm not exactly steeped in the meta (if such a thing exists after less than a week), but it doesn't seem to me like taking on starfighters with archguns means for dargyns and rangers often accomplishes much besides kiting them beyond turret range.

My favorite is the pilot who stares at the thing just long enough to get 90% charge, then juke away just as you fire.

The most gunnery skill will add on that overheat it's just 1 shot more.... so from 3-4 shots you'll have 4-5 =))) it's just so BS... i mean other games with heat and insane damage can fire a gun more than 5 times... let's be serious here... DE sucks at this thing as well as "we fixed unintentional forma drop and lightning" and not the game breaking bugs...priorities for DE suck....
