After doing a few of these I've noticed that these missions, depending the mission type, highly favor certain frame types. And there's also frames who seem bad.

Now, I still haven't managed to do a Defection or Salvage (haven't see it pop up) so I can't really speak for that. But of the ones I did play (Survival, Defense, Interception, Excavation) I did notce a few things:

Survival:
This one seems pretty simple, probably just bring a Tank frame and/or a Nekros and that seems about it. Try not to die of boredom.

Defense:
This one seems a little more annoying. The defense target cannot regen health it seems so protecting them at all times is top priority (well, more than usual). Defense frames (Frost, Gara, etc) and Support frames (Trinity, Oberon, Harrow) seem to be pretty much required for anything over one rotation. A DPS frame would be a secondary choice for faster clearing of waves (Mesa, Saryn, Equinox, etc) it seems.

Interception:
Seems to favor Defensive, CC and DPS AoE frames, as usuall. So far this mission type seemed pretty easy to me.

Excavation:
Defensive frames are a must here, the excavators die so fast. Frost and/or Gara. Limbo is a bad choice here.


Bad frames:
- Limbo, those little drones ignore the Rift and can freely walking into Cataclysm and because they are not in the Rift (and you are) you can't shoot them.


Good Weapons:
- Arca Plasmor, for taking out drones

This is my impressions so far of what I've seen in my limited time with the new mode. There's obviously stuff I've missed so if you have any frame/weapon/whatever choices, good or bad, or additional useful information, please write them below.

Well just use a gara setup w the 2nd skill's augment mod, have a decent modded melee just for damage, and just walk whatever you want to kill while being almost invinsible. Doesnt matter level 60 or 600. But yeah, walking for 30mins+ is kinda boring

I have been using Khora a lot for the defensive side of the frames (and Frost) because I love the CC that I can use either with Ensare to bunch up a ton of enemies or just using my Dome build (Range/Duration /w some strength) to grab enemies from afar while also pretty much paralyzing them until they're dead or the ability itself runs out (best for Interceptions). Not to mention the healing from Venari is also pretty nice to have.

Yeah, I know some people will find Vauban more "useful" but I like Khora a lot more in that regard.

If we're starting to talk about good weapons, do chain-beam weapons like the Atomos or Amprex hit the arbitration drones if aiming at any other enemy, or do they prevent chaining?

Haven't tried those yet but Lenz works quite well. Phantasma also works but doesn't chain.

Vazarin Protective Dash can heal the NPCs and make them invulnerable for 5 secs. I always change my operator focus for this Arb mode. It's practically impossible for them to die this way.

For solo players: drop specters! They make the thing a lot more bearable. They spread some of the enemy fire unto them instead of all on you and the NPC. Ancient Infested Healer specter is eaily the one you need here. Vazarin's dash works on it too.

For Defection I usually run as Trinity with pubs, or Trinity/Gara in a premade. Defection is not about killing enemies, but getting the ♥♥♥♥♥ out alive, sure, keeping the Infested at bay is useful.
Trinity is basically a must in Defense as she heals the Operative.

LOL you could just take them down with your Amp while your cata is still active ...

I've pretty much been playing Volt almost exclusively. The day he gets a 300% boost I may not use him, because the speed boost makes me hate it. I hate high power str. speed Volts...I build neutral str. for a capacitance build. CC and group protection.

Though that 300+ bonus for Oberon is really just lovely, unkillable against level 80+ is just hilarious.

While a bit rude... yeah you can just use your amp to destroy the drones + even if drones and shielded enemies enter cataclysm, they cant harm Limbo since he is still in the rift while they are not :)

Just banish defence target into rift with limbo, cast a frost globe or limbos cataclyst in the middle of the map, put mesa inside and it should work just fine.
