Devs do not follow these forums and this is the first time I've seen anyone complain about this. Typing in the password and pressing enter takes maybe two seconds at most and two or three seconds later you are already in your ship. Warframe makes logging in as easy as it gets, you don't even require mouse during the whole procedure.

I use a random generated password with 20 characters.
It has nothing to do with lazyness, I just take passwords serious.

if you would take password and security seriously then you would not ask save password button - as when you save it it does not matter if it is 20 or 98687950987908 random letters, anyone can get in.

If you somehow think those random generated passwords are stronger I'd suggest you see how passwords are cracked. To sum it up, takes about an hour or two to learn how to get it. What password looks like has almost nothing to do with how much time you need to obtain it.
So you are effectivelly only using it to prevent your familly or room mates to get in the game by raw guessing.

Which again leads to question, why generate such password to prevent your familly to get in your game if you gonna auto-save it?

You can create a password that is both secure and easy to remember. For example something like N3zhaizcuteb0I is both really secure and somewhat easy to remember. But you can't just copy over something I made up obviously.

No.
Type in your password yourself.

1) OP pointed out his concerns about passwords and how much he cares his passwords are strong, and he wants game to remember password so security is lower - makes no sense to have those two statements inside one's mind.

2) if typing your keyboard in uncomfortable then I am not sur ehow you even play this game, how did you even type this response?

You can always make macros with your passwords if it is that uncomfortable to use fingers to press buttons, but I must say feel bad for your wife.

Takes passwords seriously

Wants to store password

Perhaps you should start by taking security seriously first?

then change your password in the original warframe website to something that you can remember

While a 20-character password is... Safe, I guess, it depends on some factors.

Are there special characters? ( such as $,@,!, etc )
Are there numbers?
Are there capitals AND lowercases?
Is it something no one else will know?

A 20 character password with symbols, letters, and numbers is more secure than a 20-character string of words that someone can guess, like your first + name

Even then 20 characters is kinda overkill, best stick to 14 characters with all the symbols and stuff

Also what's the point of having a big beefy complicated password that no one can crack if you save it

Kinda defeats the purpose lel

The amount of people being condescending as ♥♥♥♥ to someone who just casually requested some standard QoL stuff is kinda sad. One could say the same "it just takes an extra second or two" crap to people who don't want the UI mouse moving automatically after opening new windows, but that doesn't mean it shouldn't be an option, which reminds me of something important: it's an OPTION, you're not forced to use it just because someone asked for it.

Yes,
Yes,
Yes, and
Yes.

But I'm not here to debate that.
Some guy in this thread was worried, that I lock my family out from this game.
It's my game, It's my computer, I am the only one using it, and it's also password protected.
as far as I know, to be able to play this game, you still need to be logged in in your steam account, which also has a strong password, including an active SteamGuard. Same with my Warframe account: 2FA is enabled.

I'm aware, there is always a risk, but I think to store the encrypted password on my local machine is not that high of a security risk. If someone is able to hack my computer, I would be more worried of my files and not of a game.

I wouldn't even mind, if they add a routine check every ~30 days, where you have to put in your password again.

Didn't know that an Option is such a problem for some...

do you really not see the fallacy of your statment? you want to have security, but you're asking for a less secure option? are you dense? if the hackers want your password, they will have it. it doesn't matter how many randomly generated passwords you have. understand? don't be dumb please.
