I also don't bother with holding more than 5 points at once.
PS: 500h and no 16MR? Mate get at least to mr14 for Gram Prime its among best weapons on its own and The Best if you got nice riven for it. 1.44 disposition in so good weapon.
Maybe he wants to actually enjoy the game and not level every weapon (most of which are really bad). And the Gram will get nerfed after melee 3.0 so dont aim for it
Aura = corrosive projjection (forma'd) or preferred weapon amp (unforma'd)
Exilus = Enemy Sense or Power Drift
Blind Rage
Transient Fortitude
Energy Conversion
Steel Fiber
Streamline
Fleeting Expertise
Iron Shrapnel
Armored Agility or Intensify
Basically, you want to buff iron skin as much as possible. Blind Rage, Transient Fortitude and Intensify all boost power strength directly. Steel Fiber and Armored Agility boost armor. Power Strength and armor both boost iron skin.
Energy Conversion is a 50% increase to power strength for your first ability cast after picking up an energy orb. Index has the energy orb dispensers that make this easily accessible on demand. You'll pick up an orb and immediately cast iron skin for huge boost to it.
Iron Shrapnel allows you to recast iron skin at will so you don't have to wait till it gets taken off before going to an orb and recasting it. With the points lowering your health, it can be risky waiting till enemies knock iron skin off so you can go to an energy dispenser to recast it. With iron shrapnel you just go to the dispenser when you get below 50% left and recast ironskin.
Fleeting Expertise and Streamline are both there to counter blind rage efficiency loss and because with alot of points on you, your energy can drain so fast you don't have time to recast ironskin even immediately after picking up an orb.
On Rhino Prime, the armor increase from Armored Agility actually adds a bit more to iron skin than intensify does in this build. For non-prime Rhino it's quite close and I use intensify on my Rhino Prime because I had to forma the slot to V instead of D for my buff rhino build.
Your aura is the only slot you have to boost your damage, a well modded weapon will be plenty enough damage for the first few rounds. Corrosive Projection should add more damage via armor strip than a weapon amp aura but since rhino starts with a V in aura polarity, running with your preferred weapon amp is fine if you don't want to change the polarity.
Exilus mod is personal preferance. Enemy Sense can be incredibly usefull in index to cut down on time finding enemies to slaughter as well as pointing out the disguised enemies. Power Drift addes just a tiny bit more power strength to boost iron skin a touch more.
Some people want to use Roar in index, but I find the damage boost unneeded for the first few rounds not to mention needing the energy which is getting constantly drained by points leading to standing around waiting on orb dispenser so you can roar and iron skin.
My Ironskin build lets me quite easily solo 3-4 waves of mid difficulty index if I feel like staying that long. Typically I find it more efficient to run 2 rounds and restart.
If you're thinking of running with a pre-made squad, you'll want more of a buff build so swap energy conversion for continuity and fleeting expertise for stretch so you can roar and have it hit more squad members and last a decent time.
