so basically nidus is f*cking useless in 80% of online matches?
tl;dr Has some useful skills for group play, but won't keep up with any low level content, shines in higher levels.
99% of all matches don't require you to be tanky. And the matches that do, strike out on your own for a moment, build stacks until you can oneshot every with your one and then just do 2+1 combos, feeding Nidus.
Its not that hard. If Nidus is not your speed, play something else.
If somebody dashes to me and kills enemies instead of letting me 1 them to death I know I'm dealing with trolls so I just sit back and play with minimum effort while still gathering most of rewards.
If I need full power I dont go with randoms. Even peoples with little team instinct and knowledge can get into Harrow/Nidus way 50% less often if they try to. 70% less if you instruct them.
not when you know how to play........
Get away from teammates > build first stack > link enemy > ???? > profit
Outside of that... he's just "okay." I'd rather take a Volt (for speed) or an Excal/Mesa (for brainless killing potential), otherwise. Though, to be honest, most frames would have it better than Nidus in your average Exterminate mission. If you want a similar "tanky" playstyle, just throw on Inaros and never die.
2+1 is to gather stacks reaal fast and you might wanna play on the other side of the map away from other players until you get around 20-30 stacks. nidus is great for endless
Seriously though he is super tanky when you have around 20-30 stacks and combo his 3 and 4. He takes a bit longer to be a tank then Rhino who is it right out of the gate but when you get to that point, he gives Inaros a run for his money.
But it's Nidus link ability that makes him to an absolute tank. Also he just needs to put it on ANY enemy after you have 1 stack and you're pretty much unkillable.
For best effect put it on a Heavy Gunner type enemy or Bombard. The more health and armor it has the better.
