Whether or not you'll like it is up to you, but you'll want that mastery either way.
So it won't compete with a tgris prime it's just not got that kind of punch, but with that said it still hits hard, has good range for a shot gun when you charge it, a nasty firing rate for close range (really close that spread uncharged is pretty wide) and when you learn to arc it like a bow at distance you can actually snipe with it which is kinda hilarious...
so it's verstile, does good mid teir damge has a good rate of fire, and an ok reload speed it's pretty good for what it is and the cost to build it.
also i'd rank this over the Kohm.. i tried the kohm and hated it t death, maybe a personal thing... but i'd still use a drakgoon if i didnt have shottys i prefered... but you know reading this? kinda makes me wanna rebuild my old drakgoon =3
Ewww the Kohm? people use that thing? i love shotguns and i couldn't get into that weapon and it sounded so cool initially... i'd rank the drakgoon over the Kohm personally... but might just be a personal thing... i know i use some weapons i know are inferior just because i enjoy them over them being good or great...
Maybe something that can proc alot of corrosive to soften the tougher targets up first? the drakgoon doesn't have enough crit, or status (since it's a shotgun), for it to be really worth modding for either you you're kinda stuck with raw damage.
Stats-wise, it's okay for when you first unlock it, but it falls off quickly until you get some rarer mods (including one from Rathuum - Grineer PvE arena mode) for it, which can take time. Personally, if you're looking for just a 'fun weapon to play around with', I'd say give it a try - but if you're looking for something to use as your main gun for as long as possible, it might not be the best pick compared to things like, say, Hek, or later - Tigris..
