Multishot vs Fire Rate
Is there any reason to use Fire Rate over Multishot if you have to choose one or the other?

I mean, 50% multishot makes you fire 50% more shots, just like Fire Rate, but you don't consume extra ammo making a clip last longer and improving ammo efficiency over Fire Rate?

I know, but I am curious if I've missed any part that firerate gives over multishot/

There isn't really ever a reason to not bring multishot, especially considering it's more damage per round consumed. I can see where the argument would be for bringing firerate WITH multishot, but not one or the other.

Oh yeah, and I am doing that on a weapon, but I was going through mods and realized I had the pistol mod (cause names elude me) that gives +60% fire rate and +60% multishot, and another that gave a flat +120% multishot... and on Atomos an ammo hungry weapon, it got me wondering if I missed anything about Fire Rate to not make the obvious change (though ultimately I use both!)

Lethal Torrent(the multishot+firerate), even still useful on guns that just vomit their ammo. Not much missed there, in my opinion it's only really useful on weapons that need the firerate boost to actually be useful.

Tbh, Firerate is for like weapons you want to have fun with like the supra, soma and Kohma(Not sure if i splet it right but its a shotgun that has a wheel in the middle). Are the only weapons i use fire rate for for straight up fun. The Twin viper wraith you can mod that for only fire rate and notice it sometimes does more DMG than with multishot but Multishot = bullets split into 2 and it makes it noice

Multishot adds damage, firerate does not.

If you don't want the extra fire speed, than you will get slightly better damage per instance using Auger Pact (+90% damage) compared to the multishot of Lethal Torrent. Lethal Torrent will still technically do more damage because of the fire rate on top of that (generating more overall ticks of damage), but I can definitely see extra fire rate being a bit overkill on the Atomos in most use cases.
I actually got both on there :P (Note that Lethal Torrent is my only fire rate mod though)

Yes but multishot adds the same dps but without sacrificing ammo

Multishot adds DPS, ammunition efficiency, and effectively gives you more chances to crit and inflict status with every shot fired. Multishot also increases the value of Corrosive on a high-status weapon by giving you more opportunities to strip armor with every shot fired, and thus reducing the overall time it takes to remove a given target's armor.

Fire rate just increases DPS. It also, indirectly, makes Corrosive more valuable on a high-status weapon by decreasing the amount of time between Corrosive procs, and thus reducing the overall time it takes to remove a given target's armor.

If you have to choose between multishot or fire rate, take the multishot unless you're building corrosive, and even then you'd want the multishot unless the fire rate bonus is particularly huge (such as on a bow).

Reason to used Firerate:

- It's on a mod that also does damage or something else (Lethal Torrent, Shred, Riven with +Firerate +Damage/CC/CD/Multishot, etc)

- Weapons with slow charge times that do enough damage to spare a mod for firerate (Opticor, Lenz, Lanka, etc).

- Secondary for Mesa (Firerate is VERY strong with her). (I recommend: Hornet Strike, Primed Target Cracker, Primed Pistol Gambit, Barrel Defusion, Lethal Torrent, Corrosive+Status chance mods)

Wouldn't fire rate have a better crit chance though? Or do each of the bullets from muitishot have a seperate crit chance?

Wut? Firerate does not increase crit chance. Only the speed at which bullets come out of the gun.

Multishot will increase damage, and each projectile has seperate crit and status chances, meaning greater chance at crit/status.

Neither increase crit chance or status chance. Multishot just messes with the displayed value since it shows the chance that at least one of the projectiles per shot is a crit or status proc. So even though the actual amounts of crits/procs per second is the same with increased fire rate or multishot, multishot will show a higher value because of the extra projectiles per shot.
